YES, I DO SHIP OVERSEAS!  your rate will be determined after the auction has ended. Since overseas buyers don’t have insurance available to them, it is suggested they buy the Registered Mail option which can unfortunately add $15-20 to the total cost. For overseas buyers, I would instead suggest alternate payment methods from now on as it looks like Paypal may not be feasible, unless you want to pay the additional costs.

Because Ebay is asking for a flat rate which is virtually impossible to give, my page is showing rates for domestic and foreign shipping that in some cases, may not be realistic. The rates Ebay is giving may not be the actual rates. The ship rates will be determined after the auction is completed and a realistic rate can be calculated. If it’s not clear to you that the ship rate may be higher, or possibly lower, then please do not bid on the item.

Unless you send me an e-mail statement that you understand I’m not responsible for a lost or damaged item, anyone who pays for their item with Paypal can buy insurance, which is something I had always tried to offer as an option, not a demand. Be aware that if you do not request insurance, I can’t be responsible for articles lost or damaged by the US Post Office.

UPDATE: Packages are rarely lost, but an item going to France was recently lost by the Post Office. A buyer named Stephane made a claim against me, even though my description above clearly outlines the situation. This means it will be difficult for me to be able to accept Paypal payments from foreign buyers, unless you’re willing to buy the rather expensive Registered Mail option, because there is no other way I’m covered in case of loss. I am not refusing bids from foreign buyers as many other Ebay sellers have, but be aware- if you are a foreign buyer, it may be expensive to ship your item.

PayPal available (see above), but ask me about alternate payment methods.  Foreign buyers pay in US funds only!

Canada buyers, please be aware that US shipping rates to Canada have recently skyrocketed.

I’ll also combine on shipping for a better rate if you win multiple items from me.

I will try to ship at the best rate and if the ship rate turns out to be several dollars less than anticipated, I will try to send a refund through Paypal. Let me know if you need it shipped Priority instead of the less expensive Parcel rate. A buyer actually gave me a negative recently when I shipped parcel, even though I had sent him a $5.00 shipping refund!

Pagani releases Huayra documentary [w/video]

Tue, 13 Mar 2012

Italian manufacturer Pagani has put together a 14-minute documentary tracking the development of its new Huayra supercar. The short film heads to the companies that help to make the carbon and titanium-bodied Huayra, such as Italian company ASPA that creates the car's logo for an entire day out of a solid block of aluminum. The finer points of the design and development of the 230 mph car are also explored, as well as detailing how Leonardo Da Vinci inspired Horacio Pagani's original design.

Like it or not, BMW's front-wheel future is trundling our way fast: The new 2-series Active Tourer, a front-wheel-drive MPV powered by a range of transverse-mounted three- and four-cylinder motors made its official debut Tuesday at the Geneva motor show. There wasn't much we didn't know about the 2-series Active Tourer ahead of the show -- catch yourself up with our full breakdown -- but seeing it in the steel drove home the point that this thing is happening, and we're powerless to stop it. It won't be all bad, though.

A profile of Steve McQueen: Autoweek archives

Fri, 21 Oct 2011

For today's Autoweek archive feature, we are highlighting an article by Denise McCluggage from February 1981. McCluggage knew McQueen and recalls her encounters with the “King of Cool” through the years until his death. Before becoming a star, McQueen and McCluggage met over their mutual love of automobiles, more specifically the MG-TC, which both subsequently owned.
