DESCRIPTION:  THIS IS THE WHOLE INTEGRATED CENTER SUPPORT FOR THE FAMOUS WIND SPLIT GRILLE "PROBOSCIS" OF THE '64 FULL-SIZE PONTIAC.  WHAT YOU SEE IN THE FIRST 11 PHOTOS IS WHAT YOU GET.   IT IS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW (OR, IN THE CASE OF PONTIAC, AN ARROWHEAD!).  I REMOVED THIS FROM A 64 BONNEVILLE IN 1995, SO IT'S BEEN WRAPPED UP FOR ABOUT 18 YEARS.  NO RUST ANYWHERE.  EVEN THE ORIG. PAINT & PRIMER ARE STILL PROTECTING IT.  YOU COULD BE LOOKING AT THIS AUCTION BECAUSE SOMEONE RAN A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN, AND GOT IN THE WAY OF YOUR PONCHO, OR YOUR KID JUMPED IN THE FRONT SEAT AND PUT THE DOWNHILL SLOPED CAR IN NEUTRAL (WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT MY KID BROTHER DID IN A BRAND NEW '64 GALAXIE, TAKING OUT A PLATE GLASS WINDOW IN A DRY GOODS STORE WHILE NARROWLY MISSING A GAS PUMP).  BTW, IF YOU DON'T NEED THE WHOLE LONG SUPPORT METAL FRAME, LET ME KNOW SO THAT I CAN TAILOR THE AUCTION TO YOUR NEEDS (REVISE IT).

SHIPPING/PACKING:  BECAUSE I'M IN THE CORNER OF THE COUNTRY, SHPG COSTS MAY BE A BIT MORE.  SETS OF LARGE HUBCAPS (AND LARGER ITEMS) MAY BE DIMENSIONALLY WEIGHTED (i.e., charged more than actual weight) BY UPS IN ANY BOX 16”x18”x18” OR LARGER (> 5183 TOTAL INCHES).  I DON’T CHARGE A SEPARATE HNDLNG FEE, SO WHEN YOU SEE THE EFFORT I WENT THROUGH TO PACK THIS ORDER, YOU'LL THINK IT'S A BARGAIN.   I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING, IF ITEMS CAN BE SHIPPED TOGETHER SAFELY (by deducting approx. 50% of the lesser shpg cost for each additional item).  NOTE THAT I CAN’T ADD THE EXTRA CHARGES IT COSTS ME FOR A BUYER’S RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY OR RURAL RSDNTL, INSURANCE, AND FUEL SURCHARGE, AND I PAY A COMMISSION OUT OF THE SHPG PRICE.  SO I’M OFTEN UNDERSTATING THE ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COST IN THE QUOTE.  ALSO, IT IS MY PREROGATIVE TO USE A DIFFERENT SHIPPER THAN THAT LISTED IN THE AUCTION (e.g., U.S.P.S. instead of U.P.S.), IF I FEEL THE ITEM CAN BE TRANSPORTED MORE EFFECTIVELY BY OTHER MEANS (i.e., more cheaply, or in pre-fab cartons, *****6one9-442-2800.  PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE IF I CAN'T GET TO THE PHONE!  THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST & COOPERATION...

PHOTO #12:  WILL BE POSTING AN AD FOR THE FRONT BUMPER VALENCE SOON (HAVE 1 LEFT - NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION, BUT COULD BE SHPD WITH THE PROBOSCIS, WHICH IS LONG ALSO).  YOU MAY NEED THIS PART, TOO!

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  WELCOME!  IF THE SHPG QUOTE SEEMS A LITTLE HIGH, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING.  IT TAKES ME QUITE A BIT OF EXTRA TIME TO SEND A PKG OUT OF THE U.S.; A VERY NOMINAL HNDLG CHARGE’S BEEN ADDED.  I WILL SEND PHOTOS OF PACKAGING DETAIL (IF REQUESTED).

LAYAWAY OPTION & PAYMENT TERMS:  YOU MUST MAKE A PAYMENT FOR THIS ITEM (at least 50% down) WITHIN 48 HOURS.  I WILL ALLOW UP TO 30 DAYS (90 days, if pre-arranged) FOR THE BALANCE DUE TO BE PAID.  Thank you for your cooperation...

FEEDBACK:  MY REWARD IS THE SATISFACTION OF HAPPY BUYERS, AND MY GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE 5 STAR RATINGS.  IF THERE IS ANY DELAY IN SHPMT, PLEASE CONSIDER HOW WELL I PKGD THE ITEM(S).  I’VE BEEN KNOWN TO DOUBLE-BOX, USE DOUBLE-WALL BOXES, & WRAP THINGS 3 DIFFERENT WAYS.  IN 34 YRS OF SHPG, I’VE RARELY EVER HAD A DAMAGED SHPMT!

FYI:  IN 2011, I DONATED ALMOST HALF OF MY YEAR’S EBAY SALES RECEIPTS TO THE JAPAN EARTHQUAKE & TSUNAMI RELIEF FUND…

Rhys Millen loses brakes, takes second place at Pikes Peak

Thu, 30 Jun 2011

Rhys Millen, nephew of parts guru Steve Millen, didn't break Nobuhiro Tajima's world record at the 89th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb--Tajima did that himself. But Rhys Millen did clock a fast second-place run up the 12.42-mile course with a time of 10 minutes, 9.242 seconds in a prepped Hyundai Genesis PM580. That time was made even more impressive by the fact that Millen lost brake power in the last few miles before reaching the peak.

Mini Beachcomber Concept at Detroit motor show 2010

Tue, 15 Dec 2009

This funky beach-biased concept car has just appeared at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show in January. Called the Mini Beachcomber Concept, this flight-of-fancy Moke-inspired show car gives us our first glimpse of how Mini's production-spec 4x4 crossover will look at launch - we'll see the real car at the Geneva motor show in March 2010 ahead of an autumn UK launch. This four-seater, four-wheel-drive machine has been designed without doors or a conventional roof, so that its occupants are not cut off from the outside world.
