We have for sale a nice 1965 Cadillac dashboard speedometer housing cluster with speedo included. Will fit 1966 too, except that 1966 had black anodizing on the top surface...otherwise identical! Good used condition---NO CRACKS OR CHIPS---chrome plating has that fine pitting that happens  after 50 years. This is NOT a junkyard part---early pull-off from a parts collection we acquired. Been in storage since early 1990s....see photo, e-mail questions.....

Ford Transit van gets five-cylinder turbodiesel

The full-size Ford Transit van that replaces the E-series Econoline in late 2013 will have a turbocharged five-cylinder diesel in its powertrain lineup. Today Ford uses the 3.2-liter engine in the Ranger pickup sold in international markets. The engine, which wears Ford's Power Stroke marketing name for diesel engines, is built in South Africa and will be exported to the Transit assembly plant near Kansas City, Mo.

If we wanted to break the speed record for the run from Cape Town, South Africa to London -- a quick 10,000-mile jaunt -- we'd start out by scouring the classifieds for something big and rugged. A Land Rover would be a classic choice, but a tricked-out Toyota or Jeep could do nicely as well. A team consisting of British rally drivers Philip Young and Paul Brace are taking a somewhat different approach.
