All the mustangs pictured have our twin scoop hood installed. Notice how well they fit. The red coupe pictures were very recently sent to us from Robert with the following comments: "I would recommend your services to anyone i know or come across.I received hood for a fair price, was shipped at good price and arrived fast. The fit was very good and the paint and body guy made short work of it.It has turned out bitchin! Thanks  Robert"

This is a new hand laid all fiberglass hood for any 1965 or 1966 Mustang. Please do not confuse this hood with some of the poor fitting hoods that are being offered for sale or that you see on Classic Mustangs. K.A.R. Auto Group worked with a new fiberglass manufacturer to develop a twin scoop all fiberglass hood that would fit properly and look great. This hood is molded from a steel hood pattern to insure that it would be dimensionally correct. We test fitted the hood to a 1965 Mustang that has all original body panels and has never been in an accident. When it fit this car really well we knew we had the mold done right. We then test fitted it to a show quality car also with all original body panels. It fit well on that car also. The pictures that accompany this listing show those test fittings. We have also included pictures of a recent customers MCA trophy winning Mustang with his K.A.R. twin scoop hood installed. Please read this customer's testimonial at the end of this listing. You may also review our ebay feedback reviews from all the satisfied hood customers.
After considerable research and testing we decided on an all fiberglass hood versus fiberglass with a steel frame structure. We are not metal or composite experts but were advised by knowledgeable people that all fiberglass was the way to go. These knowledgeable people stated that when you combine two different materials such as metal and fiberglass the materials react to heat and humidity differently and are therefore more prone to warp and crack over time. Don't know if if this true but it sounded plausible. This hood is metal reinforced at all mounting points. The metal reinforcements are drill and tapped to accept stock mounting hardware. There is no need for hood pins unless you simply like their look. Stock hood hinge springs should not be used with any fiberglass hood as they will cause the hood to bow in the middle over time. Light weight hood hinge springs or a prop rod should be used both of which are available from K.A.R. Auto Group.

The twin scoop 1967 Shelby style hood has become very popular for 1965 and 1966 Mustangs. It is a great styling upgrade or RESTOMOD accent item. The K.A.R. STE Classic fastback featured on the cover of the December, 2006 issue of Mustang monthly magazine has this hood installed. Sure looks good in the picture.

Due to their size hoods must be shipped by truck freight. We can provide truck freight quotes if you will provide a city and a zip code. Truck freight can be $35.00 to $75.00 less expensive to a commercial address versus a residence. We do not mark up truck freight. You pay what we pay. We do not charge a box fee.

Chevrolet Camaro preview

Fri, 11 Jan 2008

This is the first look at the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro undergoing testing at an undisclosed track. Anticipated for its official unveiling at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, this pre-production model holds true to the design cues of the Camaro concept car first seen at the Detroit Auto Show in 2006. While drawing heavily on the design features of its 1969 ancestor, the new car is a bold and angular interpretation with tight surfaces and a powerful stance.
