Jeremy Clarkson's bachelor pad Motorhome on a Citroen CX Top Gear may turn up on our screens for just half a dozen episodes at a time. But those one hour episodes take a big chunk of the rest of the year filming, so with Top Gear off air at the moment the boys are out playing. A few weeks back they managed to cause the volcanic eruption in Iceland with May trying to rush the volcano in a Hilux with water-cooled tyres, and now the boys have been spotted in the UK with the results of their ‘Build a Motorhome’ challenge.

Michelin Challenge Design - Deadline for entries April 16

You Can Design America's Next Iconic Vehicle Michelin Challenge Design - the global transportation design competition in its ninth year - is looking for America's next iconic vehicle.  Submissions for the 2009 program will be accepted through April 16, 2008. The winning designs will be evaluated for their uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution by a jury of automotive design professionals and receive prominent display in the MCD exhibit at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. Next Volvo XC90 to ditch dashboard buttons

VOLVO is looking to the future of in-car technology in next year's new XC90 by doing away with almost all buttons and replacing them with a new combination of a touch-screen, a head-up display and steering wheel-mounted thumb wheels. The system is designed to make better use of the available interior space while reducing distractions for the driver, but it will mean that users will have to start from scratch to learn how to operate even the car's most basic interior functions. To make it worthwhile Volvo is integrating new features like remote 'Park and Pay' applications and the ability to use and mirror Apple iOS apps in the interface.
