A MOST UNUSUAL OPPORTUNITY

This is one of many of my cars, that since turning 71,

my family has been encouraging me to sell

Dave Ridenour was a So Cal roadracer during the early 60's, and was the owner / driver of a Huffaker Genie with Olds V8 then Ford V8.

Dave had the foresight to recognize the coming of the  aero Coupes in Group7 ( ala Porsche 917, McClarenGT, etc), and during the 65/66 Winter he rebodied his Mk8 Genie/Ford with this beautiful custom coupe body, the only one of it's kind.

Unfortunately,  Dave was killed in a race accident in July 1966

His wife sold the car, and it was owned and raced on the West Coast,  until  eventually the coupe body was removed, and an open body installed.

The body has been in our shop for many years, awaiting a new chassis.  It is in very good condition, and in primer ready for completion.

The  Genie/Ford  logo on the hood was hand painted,

 and carefully retained during refinishing

The car was originally orange, then repainted dark blue by a subsequent owner

Windshield is an easily sourced 63-67 Corvette

the rear screen was plexiglass.

Copies of numerous papers and early pictures, including the wife's advertisement of it for sale, are included, as well as various amounts of pictures, etc,  regarding Genie chassis

With the 289 Ford V8, I have been told by one of the owners,

that the car was run at Bonnevile in excess of 200 mph.

Lexus LS (EU version)

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

The fifth-generation Lexus LS is the latest full-size luxury sedan to wear the badge since Toyota's premium brand was introduced in 1989. It continues the model's gentle evolution, this latest version reflecting the brand's L-finesse design language.  This is best seen in its inverted trapezoidal 'spindle' grille and L-shaped DRLs. The EU model measures in at 5,090mm long – 30mm longer than the outgoing model – while the wheelbase remains 2,970mm in length. The front and rear overhangs have increased by 10 and 20mm respectively.

Mazda SkyActiv technology goes on offer to raise funds

Wed, 15 Feb 2012

Mazda is looking to license their SkyActiv Technology to raise capital (CX-5 with SkyActiv pictured) Mazda are predicting losses for the current financial year of £750 million and are looking to sell their SkyActiv technology to raise cash. Mazda isn’t having the best of times at the moment, despite an impressive range of cars that are getting more interesting with Mazda’s SkyActiv technology, and are predicting that they will post a loss of around £750 million for the current financial year. There are a variety of reasons for Mazda’s financial predicament – including the strength of the Yen and the production problems after the Japanese Tsunami – but this is the fourth year in a row Mazda has posted losses.
