This engine was removed from my Camaro 1969 december 2013 because I am upgrading to a newer EFI engine. I have found some casting# and got help from a guy to decode it. Please check for yourself to be sure this is correct. My Camaro has been my dads from about 1985 till I bought it 10-15 years ago. Engine was overhauled in the late 80`s and has been very little used... I dynoed it years ago on a Dynapack hub-dyno, and measured 304 hp at the hubs via a TH400 and a 12-bolt rear. Runs great and pulls strong. It have a "new" Barry Grant Demon 650 CFM carburetor with electric choke, "new" ministarter, "new" waterpump and an used HEI-distributor. Complete with headers (rusty and bulky), servopump and alternator. Engine was running when removed, but it is sweating oil. Sump has some dents/bulks. It had a ticking sound when drove it home after it had been stored for about 5 years. Lifter/rod bearing? The sump should be removed to fix oil leak/sweating and I believe it would been an good idea to replace/check rod bearings as it have been started many times after long periods of storage. Had a couple of videos of it running from just before I removed it from the car. Will try to find it and host in on Photobucket. Videos: Volkswagen's exterior and interior designers highlight the Up's design elements
Thu, 27 Oct 2011We've enjoyed the design of Volkswagen's new Up since we first saw the vehicle in concept form at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show. Devoid of any extraneous detailing, the simple, product design aesthetic is pared back to represent the crux of VW's design philosophy: pure, simple and solid. The result is a harmonious design that stands out from the pack, with simple surfacing and subtle detailing; the Up's design is pure and minimalistic, which serves to exude quality in the product. Inside, the vehicle is brimming with space-saving design details. From an IP devoid of central air vents to a thin headrest that visually extends the height of the interior, the Up is a success story in space efficiency, but it is also finished to a high level using quality materials.
Peugeot 2008: First photos arrive
Sat, 05 Jan 2013The first photos of the Peugeot 2008 – an SUV / Crossover version of the new 208 – have arrived ahead of an official reveal next week. Peugeot’s new offering in the compact SUV sector is the Peugeot 2008 – a compact crossover version of the new 208 – which we saw first at the Beijing Motor Show last year as the Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept and now, ahead of an official reveal next week, we have the first official photos of the new 2008. So far, we have no real detail on what’s under the bonnet, but visually the production version of the 2008 seems little changed from the concept – which means a decent-looking offering for a competitive market place.
Geneva Show 2014: All Change For Renault’s Twingo
Tue, 04 Mar 2014FRENCH car maker Renault is set to shake up the city car market with the third generation of its Twingo model. In a bold move, this latest Twingo adopts a rear engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Engineers believe such a plan affords the car more cabin space and, potentially, a more engaging driving experience.
