The new VW Golf R has been revealed and it’s the fastest version of the iconic hatch ever. The all-wheel drive flagship Golf now has 296bhp, up from 267bhp, with its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive sending the six-speed DSG version from 0-62mph in a feisty 4.9sec – matching the BMW M135i, but still shy of the Mercedes A45 AMG, which cracks it in 4.6sec. Lotus Evora GTC ready to race

Lotus released the details of its Evora GTC race car on Friday, which just found its first customer in McMahon Raceworks with Condor Motorsport. The team will enter the car in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The engine and the transmission of the GT4 Enduro version are carried over.

Michelin Recognizes CCS Student Talent

Five senior students from the Transportation Design Department of the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit have won prestigious design awards at the 21st Annual Michelin-CCS Design Competition. The creative brief for the competition theme "Electrifying - Beautiful, Innovative and Radiant" required the students to submit electric vehicle design solutions they could realistically envision driving in the year 2020, as well as designs which addressed a specific transportation problem or opportunity. Each student also submitted a separate tire/wheel assembly based on Michelin's Active Wheel technology.
