Among all the unveilings and glitz at last week’s Geneva Motor Show, the shortlisted shortlist (yes, really) for the World Car of the Year awards was announced. Sure, manufacturers are constantly gloating about adding to their trophy cabinets, but these are the awards that matter. Diesel-powered Audi A3 Sportback TDI coming to America in 2015

The Audi A3 family has another America-bound variant: the automaker announced at the New York auto show that a diesel-powered Audi A3 Sportback TDI will go on sale here in 2015. Previously, we were told that the plug-in hybrid version of the vehicle -- the so-called Audi A3 Sportback e-tron -- would be the only one to make it to American markets. According Audi, it was enthusiast demand that spurred the change.

Bentley-designed Santa’s sleigh

What better solution than something mixing the design class of a Bentley with the snow-covering ability of a downhill toboggan? Bentley designers John Paul Gregory imagined a futuristic Santa Azure Sleigh (complete with rifled tailpipes and exposed Bentley Blitzen powerplant), while Yunwoo Jeong turned the Continental GTC cabrio into a sleigh with quad-outrigged headlamps and begoggled Santa.
