This is a single 3873858 Big Block Chevy Rectangle port Closed Chamber head that would have come on a 1966 Hi performance 427 or 396. I got it from a local machine shop it was hot tanked and magnafluxed. it came out fine but will need completely rebuilt. Bare Head. These are hard to find

check my other auctions as I have more for sale

Head will need rebuilt in that it needs valves, springs, retainers etc. Has been decked and a valve job recently.
It was briefly on a big block in a jet boat that dropped a valve on the other side of the motor and destroyed the other head. Had to get another set because they couldn't find another closed chamber head

I just picked up another head with a 68 casting date. It is being cleand and magged this week.
And a set of fully ported open chamber heads with a 71 casting date if someone needs them let me know

One lap of the Web: The 917 song, eating an engine block and Saab sputters back to life?

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

-- Your author can attest to the aural joy of a properly tuned Porsche flat-six (cooled by air, please), but FlatSixes has posted a video of a 12-cylinder 917K lapping Monza at full-tilt that'll make your mouth water. -- We're all aware of what happens to "end-of-life" vehicles: The crusher or, in many cases, the shredder takes what was once someone's pride and joy and returns it to raw materials. But have you ever seen it happen?
