Please watch my auctions for other Mustang Fastback, Cougar, Fairlane, Cobra 390 / 428 FE parts.

Up for sale is AN ORIGINAL 1966 (MAYBE 1967, TOO?) FORD FAIRLANE DECK LID. If you have been looking for a good deck lid for your Fairlane, you know these are almost all rotted out, lips shot and in terrible shape. This one is in surprisingly good condition. From what I can tell, it looks like there are three shallow dents on the back of the lid and on one corner the edge was ground on and went through the thin metal. Most of this has been rewelded and needs to be finished up. Other than that, this looks to be in exceptional condition.

This shows local pick up only, but I will ship it if you contact me first to discuss. Items like this are not cheap to chip, nor are they easy to.

Get a correct OEM trunk lid for your '66 Fairlane for a great price! Starting bid is just $49.00 with NO RESERVE. Don't miss out, this is your chance to get a good solid OEM part for your restoration, or to hang on to for a future deserving project! This is available for sale locally and this auction may be ended early.

Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Buyer is responsible for fitment. Please check your application prior to bidding.

This is a 40+ year old part, so it is being sold as is. I have taken photos to show details and attempted to describe this as best I can listing any KNOWN issue, defects, or imperfections. I am not perfect and can miss things at times. Should this happen and you are not satisfied, please contact me so we can discuss your concerns. I will happily answer any questions you may have about this part, but the buyer is ultimately responsible for researching the fitment for their specific application. Payment is due within 5 days. If you cannot make payment within 5 days, please contact me ASAP so we can work something out. If I do not receive payment within 3 days of the end of the auction and you have not contacted me, I reserve the right to relist the item immediately. Please don't bid if you don't intend to pay. Negative feedback will be left for non-paying bidders and they will be reported. This is a used part that needs restoration. It is being sold as-is, without warranty.

About Me, Feedback, Star Ratings, Shipping, and Ebay Fees - please read before bidding.
First, thanks for checking out my auction. I am not a dealer, wholesaler, reseller, etc. I am a hobbyist who has parted out a couple of cars in order to raise money for my project vehicles. It's how I finance them. From these vehicles, I sell the parts. They are used. Most times they can't be tested and I will state this in the auction. I won't sell junk. Some parts are rare, or tough to find in good cosmetic condition, so in some cases I will sell a part that does not work which will be clearly stated in the auction. I always pack an item as if I was sending it to myself and I wanted it to ship as cheaply as possible and arrive undamaged. Some items I have to guess at weights or shipping, so shipping may look high. I refund all overages beyond cost + eBay shipping fees of greater than $1, and invoice all shortages of $1 or more. I make no attempt to profit on shipping. As a car guy who buys here also, I don't like it when sellers profit on my shipping as well. On rare occasion I will charge a fee for materials when I need to purchase a large box (can cost me as much as $12) or specific packing materials. I am mentioning all of this because it leads back to feedback, star ratings, and fees.

UPDATED FOR DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Because I am now charged 10% on all shipping fees for the right to ship you the parts you have purchased, I must now add an estimated "handling fee" to cover these costs. I have always tried to keep shipping costs down, especially for international shipments, but with USPS dramatically increasing their rates and you-know-who piling on, I have to pass these cost through. I will still continue to only charge what it costs me (within a buck either way) and refund any overages as I believe it is the right thing to do. I will also continue to offer as many of my auctions to international buyers (where it is reasonable). For all buyers, the postage rate you see on the package will no longer match what you are charged, and I am very sorry to do this, but it is costing me 10% from eBay and an additional 3% from PayPal and the international shipping is so high it is costing me a fortune. My only other option would be to stop shipping internationally, and I don't want to do that as so many sellers already have. Please feel free to let eBay know how you feel about their policy and thank you for your understanding.

Feedback on Ebay has a direct impact on your ability to reach sellers. Typical fees around 15% of the final sale price on an item between Ebay and PayPal fees. It's a lot of money and the rates only go up, however Ebay does offer discounts to sellers who keep their star ratings high. BUT, as stated above, I'm not a business. I can't guarantee next day shipping and I won't. I have kids so sometimes it take me 2-3 days before I ship so I do NOT get these discounts even with my VERY HIGH star ratings and 100% satisfaction.

I had a complaint about shipping time to a buyer in Canada and received a reduced star rating as a result. It took 22 days from the time of purchase to reach him. As it turns out, I shipped his item within 12 hours of payment and customs held the package up. Nothing I could have done, but the lower rating had already been left. So, if there is an issue, please do contact me first. Thank you.

Thanks for your consideration, your bids, and your purchases.

2014 Land Rover Defender Challenge announced

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

By Damion Smy Motor Industry 30 October 2013 12:01 Land Rover has confirmed that it is the official sponsor of the 2014 ‘Defender Challenger by Bowler’, which will see a field of up to 15 tricked-up Defender 90s hit the rough stuff as crews get down and dirty, Dakar style. It’s all about enticing those who are curious about rally raids, such as the legendary Dakar event that’s held early each year. A lack of experience, as well as costs, has made it difficult for novices looking to qualify for the necessary licence, so the Defender Challenge is ideal for rally wannabes looking to dip a toe in the water, so to speak, with no experience required to enter.
