Here is a power trunk release that will fir 1966 Ford large cars and Mercury large cars. These are impossible to find.
The only other option is a cable release, which is always a problem. Cable kinks, pulls rough, rusts etc. This is the best solution, open your trunk with the push of a button. Could it be any easier?

Comes with what you see in the picture, latch, wiring, button, and bolts. No modification to your car needed, just bolt on and go. Very easy to install.

The small black button can be mounted anywhere and matches in with the time, so it looks correct.
I have one on my 66 and could not be happier with it.

Peugeot 308 R concept (2013) at Frankfurt motor show

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

The Peugeot 308 R could be the biggest hint yet that Peugeot is getting its mojo back. Carrying the RCZ concept’s styling into production was a good start, and the new 208 GTi is a pleasantly surprising hoot, but for bigger smiles you’ll want this: a 270bhp, carbonfibre-clad hot hatch that’ll give an Audi S3 a fright, and leave a Golf GTI in its tyre tracks. The catch?

Australia's Holden to cease production after 2017, GM says

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

General Motors, in the latest blow to Australia's auto industry, will end vehicle and engine manufacturing and scale back engineering operations in the country by the end of 2017. The company's Holden unit, a mainstay in Australia for decades, cited the high cost of manufacturing in one of the world's smallest but most competitive markets and one that has also been upended by a steady rise in imports, mostly from southeast Asia. There has been widespread speculation of the move in recent days and earlier Tuesday, in Australia, GM officials said no decision had been made.
