Up for your consideration is this 1966 Kelsey Hayes 15 x 6 Steel Wheel for Ford. I believe this may have come off of a Shelby but I'm not 100% sure so please use your own knowledge and judgement. I'll provide as much detail as I can. The wheel appears to be straight and true with no dents or other structural defects showing other than surface rust. The markings on it are as follows.  The inside of the wheel is marked with:  KELSEY CANADA - M or N (hard to tell which) 15 x 6 JJ 12 15 FD K27. The marks near the valve are as follows: K26 12 15 E1. The marks near the bolt holes are as follows: P 12 TC K26.  The backspace measures 3.875" or 3-7/8". The bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5". The center hole measures 2.750" or 2-3/4".  The actual size of the wheel is about 16-1/4" in diameter by about 7" wide.  Please look at the photographs closely. They are an important part of this description. This is wheel No. 3 of 3 that I currently have listed.

Jaguar hybrid cars due in 2013-14

Thu, 13 May 2010

Jaguar will launch its own hybrid vehicles soon after Land Rover, CAR can confirm. Parent company Jaguar Land Rover is developing battery-assisted hybrid versions for both brands but its strategy puts part-electric Land Rovers first on the launchpad in 2013.Hybrid Jaguars – set to include the XJ and XF, but eventually every model – are therefore likely to be on the market by 2013-2014, using a similar eight-speed ZF hybrid transmission to petrol-electric BMWs.The staggered roll-out of battery Jags and Land Rovers makes sense: heavy 4x4s have come in the firing line from green protestors who label them Chelsea Tractors. Hybrid Land Rovers will trim emissions and – in plug-in hybrid mode – enable even big bulky Range Rovers to drive in zero-emissions mode into central urban areas emitting nothing more unsaintly than an electric whir.So which Jaguars will go hybrid first? It's likely that the largest models such as the XJ will receive the hybrid power packs first; large cars reap the greater benefit and can more easily swallow the additional cost, put at around £10,000 in today's money.JLR's Midlands engineering bases in Whitley and Gaydon now employ 100 engineers in the expanding hybrid powertrain business unit launched 18 months ago.

Honda's Asimo robot celebrates its 10th birthday

Fri, 29 Oct 2010

Way back in 2000, after 14 years of research, ASIMO was born 31 October. It might have been another three years before Honda's humanoid robot was unveiled to the public, but to celebrate the landmark date ten years on, Honda has launched a website dedicated to the robot and all it has achieved over the past decade. Not heard of ASIMO?

Police to target uninsured drivers by crushing their cars

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

The Metropolitan Police operation to cut down on uninsured drivers by crushing their vehicles could be rolled out nationwide, claims Auto Express. Operation Cubo has seized more than 14,000 vehicles in London since it was introduced in October 2011. The campaign sets up sites targeting specific areas, using automatic number plate recognition systems to identify cars being driven without insurance.
