Two very similar concepts, yet the endurance races at the Ring and Le Mans differ hugely, and both excite for very different reasons. I just hope they stay that way. Thu, 04 Jul 2013The Vuhl 05 has been revealed to the media in London, making its world premier at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall. Designed to take on the likes of the KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom as a road and track toy, the 05 is the work of two Mexican brothers who have backing from the Mexican government. It’ll be on sale in Europe, expected to be its biggest market, from early 2014.
VW reveals plug-in diesel hybrid concept, claims 261 mpg
Tue, 25 Jan 2011Volkswagen has used a car show in the Middle East nation of Qatar to unveil a two-seat plug-in hybrid concept car that the automaker says will deliver 261 mpg. The VW XL1 uses a lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor and a two-cylinder, 0.8-liter diesel engine for the powertrain. We're still digesting the press release, but here are some highlights: -- VW says the XL1 can travel about 22 miles on electricity from the battery pack.
