This rare option is a nice way to upgrade the rear of your 1966 Plymouth Fury.   This will fit all models of 2-door and 4-door sedan and hardtop Fury, as well as convertibles,  But will not fit station wagons.

This very nice accessory complete rear bumper assembly can be used as is or use this core for a show winning plating job.

It comes with all "Plymouth letters" on the top of bumper in great shape with no broken pins, license plate light assembly, as well as both center bumper brackets and end brackets with rubber guard assemblies as pictured.

The rubber guard on the left side has a series of small vertical cracks in the rubber but can easily be repaired with todays materials from any automotive, body shop, paint supply store. The right rubber guard only has one a slight vertical crack and a small light scuff on the end that's very small. License plate light assembly is there and complete but the small round plastic bulb cover is cracked and broken. Has small right side rubber stop for spring load license plate bracket, no left.

All bolts and fasteners have been checked, removed and reinstalled on both brackets, letters, rubber guards and plates to make sure there are no surprises of broken bolts for the accessory guards if you want to restore this yourself.
All fasteners are in super condition with no bolts or nuts ever replaced or broken. All bolts were sprayed with penetrating oil prior to removal and came off very smoothly.

This is a real nice old original bumper from the west coast, which means just light surface rust on the backside. only found some rust scale on the backsides of the metal chrome plates that fit under the rubber guards to bumper but would not affect the outsides appearance once re-plated, as all metal starts in the pickle tank to remove any rust before the plating preparation starts anyway.

The plating is going on 50 years old now and could use a re-plate is you want show quality. There is also a few little nibs to be taken out of it, one each by the bumper bolts and a scratch on the left side end cap and possibly any other very small items not seen easily. I could only detect what looks to appear to be a slight bow in top above plate area about a 1/16th of an inch to a 1/4 inch at best. Only mentioned because noticed after close examination. Not sure most would see it as it is very minute. But to be perfect, I would recommend having it massaged at a bumper shop if you are looking for show points.

This is a pretty rare option for the rear of the Fury and not seen very often, even on the Sport Fury's or VIP's.    A nice, rust free bumper ready to use as is or restore to show.

Don't miss out on this great bumper assembly with Free Shipping.                   Thank you for looking.

CCS Ford Model T project

Fri, 13 Jun 2008

This past semester, eleven junior-level College for Creative Studies (CCS) Transportation Design students were asked to reinterpret an automotive icon: the Ford Model T. Over the course of the 16-week semester the students created 11 different concepts for a Model T for the future without forgetting the underlying principle - creating an icon that would have equal significance and social impact like the 100 year old original.   On April 30 each of the students presented their research, sketches, renderings and one- quarter scale models judged by Peter Horbury, Ford Executive Director of Design, The Americas and Pat Schiavone, Ford's Design Director for North America Trucks and CUVs. The winning concept, which the judges thought best embodied the spirit, innovation and sociological impact equal to that of the original Model T, was created by Dong Tran, of Cicero, New York.
