This is an all new fiberglass body kit being offered by K.A.R. Auto Group for any 1967 or 1968 Mustang COUPE OR CONVERTIBLE. THIS KIT FEATURES OUR ALL NEW 1968 SHELBY STYLE SHORT TWIN SCOOP HOOD. This new hood is dimensionally the same as your original steel hood. This hood is not a copy of anything being offered by anyone. We created this hood from scratch to incorporate some design features we felt would be of value to many of you 1967 and 1968 Mustang owners. You may note that the space between the two scoops is shaped slightly different from other hoods. You will also note that the simulated openings at the rear are taller than an original Shelby hood. This over all front and rear design was done purposely to create more clearance on the underside allowing for the high rise intake manifolds many of you install today. There is a minimum of 2 1/2 inches of additional clearance over your stock steel hood. This also enhances the car's muscle car image. The louvers in the hood are open and therefore functional. There are 7 openings on each side that will allow hot engine air to easily escape. We did not open the very rear simulated vents as they were not open on the original 1968 Shelby's. If we opened them many of you would ask for a hood without them open and visa versa. If you want yours open a good body shop would find that to be an easy task. The hood mounts exactly like a steel hood and uses stock fasteners. Although this is an all fiberglass hood it is metal reinforced at all mounting locations. It has been drilled and tapped for stock fasteners. All fiberglass hoods should use either lightweight hood hinge springs or a prop rod. We sell both. Failure to use one or the other will result in your hood bowing in the middle over time. The trunk lid is also hand laid fiberglass. It also attaches with all stock fasteners and is reinforced at all mounting locations. The quarter panel end caps come with mounting studs but they are not attached. We have learned that there are variances between Mustangs at the rear from the factory. In addition some cars have had quarter panels replaced over the years. Your installer can choose the location to mount the studs that enables them to align perfectly with the trunk lid on your specific car. Some body shops attach the end caps with a modern adhesive eliminating the studs altogether. The California special style side scoops do have a mounting stud and are an easy installation. Some owners have actually molded the scoops into the body for even cleaner installation. Please bear in mind that all fiberglass requires prep work before painting. Dimensionally it will fit if original steel parts fit your car. You do not simply block sand, prime, and then paint fiberglass. It requires more prep work to make it look as good as a steel part. There can be minor low spots or a textured edge. Fiberglass also has a curing time. When you first receive your fiberglass kit it is not a good idea to lay things on it or to allow it to stand on edge for long periods. Either lay it flat or better yet, install it on your car for storage. This kit must ship by TRUCK FREIGHT due to its size. Truck freight quotes are available upon request. We must have a city and zip code to create a quote. Truck freight will be approximately $50.00 less to a business than to a residence. Please consider K.A.R. Auto Group for all your Classic Mustang needs. We stock over 9000 high quality parts and accessories and offer the industry's best tech support to our parts customers. karmustang.com.

The Hyundai Veloster Midship at the Busan Motor Show
The Hyundai Veloster is actually a perfectly capable – if slightly quirky - sports car, which promises much but doesn’t actually deliver in terms of performance. In fact, when we reviewed the Hyundai Veloster a couple of years ago with its 1.6 litre petrol engine, we wondered if Hyundai would have been better giving the Veloster a diesel lump instead, which would at least have made its paucity of power less of a problem with more torque to play with. And the Veloster Turbo isn’t a huge amount better, only offering 184 bhp and taking 8.4 seconds to get to 62mph; figures we would have expected from the base Veloster if it were to be a properly credible competitor in the sector.

Just as humans find it difficult getting out of bed on a cold morning, cars often don’t like starting when temperatures are below freezing. Not only is there more pressure on car batteries in the winter as we rely on them for heating and lighting, but they also struggle to hold their charge. So, in a bid to prove that their batteries are unbeatable in the cold, a Canadian company has built a pick-up truck out of ice.

The Honda Jazz Hybrid will debut at the Paris Motor Show
Despite not really believing that Hybrid cars are anything other than a stop-gap (if they’re any use at all in small cars) Honda is pushing forward with its hybrid range by dropping the hybrid bits from the Insight in to the Jazz to make the Honda Jazz Hybrid (in the Americas, China and Japan read that as Honda Fit Hybrid). The Honda Jazz Hybrid – which will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in just over a month – will be the first B-Segment hybrid to hit the market (supermini in English), and its smaller size may help the Insight’s hybrid bits be a bit more fun. But don’t hold your breath.
