Please be aware that due
to continuing strong demand we are currently shipping in 2 to 3 weeks from date of purchase. If this timing does not fit your schedule
please do not purchase this fiberglass hood. We do not want to
disappoint anyone who must have the part sooner. This is an all new fiberglass body kit being offered by K.A.R. Auto Group for any 1967 or 1968 Mustang FASTBACK. THIS KIT FEATURES OUR ALL NEW 1968 SHELBY STYLE SHORT TWIN SCOOP HOOD. This new hood is dimensionally the same as your original steel hood. This hood is not a copy of anything being offered by anyone. We created this hood from scratch to incorporate some design features we felt would be of value to many of you 1967 and 1968 Mustang owners. You may note that the space between the two scoops is shaped slightly different from other hoods. You will also note that the simulated openings at the rear are taller than an original Shelby hood. This over all front and rear design was done purposely to create more clearance on the underside allowing for the high rise intake manifolds many of you install today. There is a minimum of 2 1/2 inches of additional clearance over your stock steel hood. This also enhances the car's muscle car image. The louvers in the hood are open and therefore functional. There are 7 openings on each side that will allow hot engine air to easily escape. We did not open the very rear simulated vents as they were not open on the original 1968 Shelby's. If we opened them many of you would ask for a hood without them open and visa versa. If you want yours open a good body shop would find that to be an easy task. The hood mounts exactly like a steel hood and uses stock fasteners. Although this is an all fiberglass hood it is metal reinforced at all mounting locations. It has been drilled and tapped for stock fasteners. All fiberglass hoods should use either lightweight hood hinge springs or a prop rod. We sell both. Failure to use one or the other will result in your hood bowing in the middle over time. The trunk lid is also hand laid fiberglass. It also attaches with all stock fasteners and is reinforced at all mounting locations. The quarter panel end caps come with mounting studs but they are not attached. We have learned that there are variances between Mustangs at the rear from the factory. In addition some cars have had quarter panels replaced over the years. Your installer can choose the location to mount the studs that enables them to align perfectly with the trunk lid on your specific car. Some body shops attach the end caps with a modern adhesive eliminating the studs altogether. Please bear in mind that all fiberglass requires prep work before painting. Dimensionally it will fit if original steel parts fit your car. You do not simply block sand, prime, and then paint fiberglass. It requires more prep work to make it look as good as a steel part. There can be minor low spots or a textured edge. Fiberglass also has a curing time. When you first receive your fiberglass kit it is not a good idea to lay things on it or to allow it to stand on edge for long periods. Either lay it flat or better yet, install it on your car for storage. This kit must ship by TRUCK FREIGHT due to its size. Truck freight quotes are available upon request. We must have a city and zip code to create a quote. Truck freight will be approximately $50.00 less to a business than to a residence. Please consider K.A.R. Auto Group for all your Classic Mustang needs. We stock over 9000 high quality parts and accessories and offer the industry's best tech support to our parts customers. karmustang.com.

We’ve had our first taste of the 2013 SRT Viper on-track at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Mich., which you can read about here. Now we know about how much it will cost to put the new V10 sports car in your garage. The SRT Viper starts at $99,390, which includes $1,995 for destination but doesn’t include a gas-guzzler tax that’s still being finalized.

The Hyundai BlueOn EV (pictured) was Hyundai’s last electric car
Back in 2011 it seemed that Hyundai was to concentrate on building hydrogen powered and hybrid cars as it looked to the future, but that seems to have changed. Back then, Hyundai Motors head of R&D - Yang Woong-Chul – said he believed BEVs (battery electric vehicles) had zero chance of replacing ICE cars because of their poor range, poor battery technology and high costs. But it seems Hyundai has had a rethink.
