Volvo V40 range gets new Drive-E engines

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. The Formula 1 circus has descended upon Abu Dhabi for the finale of the 2009 championship this week, and when the GP crowd returns in 2010 alongside the track will be Ferrari World, a Ferrari-influenced theme park. It's been delayed slightly, but CAR Online has the latest update on the potentially record-breaking theme park being built next to the F1 circuit on Yas Island. According to the designers, not only will Ferrari World be the largest indoor theme park on Earth, but it will also house the fastest roller coaster.

The finished car, of which just eleven will be made (accept no substitutes) is designed to ‘unite the best of Ferrari and Aston Martin’, according to the promotional literature. A single teaser image has been revealed, showing a carbonfibre-bodied coupe with vertical exhaust outlets and faintly McLaren 12C-esque rear lights.
