Concept Car of the Week: Chevrolet Express (1987)
Fri, 25 Jan 2013A fantastic selection of concept cars from the ‘80s were featured in Back to the Future II such as the Pontiac Pursuit, the Ford Probe or the Saab EV-1, but my personal favorite was the Chevrolet Express that almost ran over Marty upon his arrival in the year 2015. Before being a movie extra, the Express was presented in 1987 as another attempt from GM to adapt aircraft engineering to automotive requirements. GM had been experimenting with gas turbines for more than 20 years, dating back to the 370hp XP-21 Firebird from 1954, but that concept was quite primitive compared to its younger brother.
Top Gear’s James May does 259mph in a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
Fri, 16 Jul 2010Top Gear's James May in the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport The Top Gear boys were running rumours around a few days ago that they had been in on the new world record speed for a production car set by the Veyron Super Sport. We didn’t know exactly what they’d done, but we did know none of the three amigos were at the wheel when the Super Sport averaged 267.81mph. So we thought we’d wait and see what came out in the wash before we reported it.
Chevrolet Colorado concept
Mon, 28 Mar 2011General Motors' Chevrolet brand is previewing the next generation midsized Colorado pickup truck in concept form at the Bangkok International Auto Show. The venue was chosen to debut the truck due to the Thai market's prevalence – it is the world's largest market for midsize pickups. Despite being a show vehicle, the basic proportions and form are said to convey the vision for the next-generation Colorado, whiuch is said to build on Chevrolet's 'strong truck DNA and award-winning heritage.' With a design calling on the inherent strength of Chevy trucks, it is unsurprising to see the exterior boast a broad shouldered and squat demeanor.
