Springfield, Nebraska, United States
For sale: A ready to install 1967 production year, 327 cubic inch, 350 horsepower, RPO L79 engine for a Corvette with a 4 speed transmission. There is a standard, one year warranty. If you are interested, please read the details below. If you have further questions, go to "Questions and answers about this item" near the bottom of this listing and select "ask a question", hit "other", then hit "continue". If this engine is dated too early or too late for your car, we can certainly build one that matches your car. Be assured that this engine is painted the correct color. We are engine builders, not cameramen. Please check out the other engines we currently have listed, the paint color is shown better in some than others. Finally, if you think this is a lot of money to spend on a correct engine, remember that it will not only increase the value of your car by about twice this amount, you will have a new engine. Its a win win. NOTE: If it is paid for in advance, we can deliver this free of charge to the Bloomington Gold swap meet that begins June 23 in Indianapolis. Stamping: I have been decking blocks and restamping engine assembly stampings for almost 40 years (see other engines listed) and I am very sure this is original stamping and deck surface. It has a very distinct, weathered surface with factory broach marks. The block pad has never been milled or had any numbers removed. Note that there has never been a VIN stamped on this block. Very, very rare find. Normally if you find a block that has the original engine assembly stamping and never a VIN, it is a big block. This one surprised us. I assume it was used as a warranty block in place of using a CE block? You do not want to know how little we paid for it. Shipping: This engine can be picked up in Springfield, Nebraska, which is just south west of Omaha. If it needs to be shipped, I get a major discount with UPS Freight (a division of UPS) and will certainly pass that pricing along to you if you so choose. Or I will deliver the engine to any of the major carriers located in Omaha free of charge. If the engine is shipped, I will build a completely enclosed box with a pallet type bottom for $50. Trust me, the box is sturdy and will get the engine to you safe and sound. Over the past year, the charge for shipping a complete engine to a business (or a UPS terminal) on the east or west coast has been averaging $400 using my discounts. Cost varies depending on destination and other variables. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. The following is specific to this engine and correct: 1. Block has no sleeves or weld repairs and the bore size is a fresh +040. The casting number is 3892657 and the casting date is H 26 6 (August 26, 1966). Pistons are correct stock forged (L2166N). 2. Cylinder head casting number is 3890462 and they have new 2.02/1.60 stainless steel valves. Both heads have a casting date of I 6 6 (September 6, 1966). 3. Crankshaft is forged (4577) and the journals are excellent standard (very rare to find a 327 crank that does not need grinding). 4. Intake manifold casting number is 3890490. 5. Harmonic balancer is the correct, 8 inch diameter version with the inside fins (sometimes referred to as "finned"). 6. The engine assembly stamping is V 0 9 0 8 H T (Flint, September 8, 1966; 327 ci, 350 hp, manual transmision). There is currently no VIN stamped on the block (see description above). Stamping is correct for both PS and Non PS but only no AC. 7. Oil pan is the correct, medium sump type pan (can be used with PS) and the valve covers are 7 finned aluminum, both correct for the Corvette 350 hp engine. 8. Camshaft is a reproduction of the 350 hp GM hydraulic lifter Corvette camshaft (CS 179). The following is a general list of what we do to our restoration engines, including this engine: 1. Blocks are stripped, thoroughly cleaned, measured, and magnefluxed to assure no cracks. 2. New block plugs and cam bearings are installed. 3. Block is bored to the minimum required and to match the new pistons and premium rings. 4. Block is decked/line honed as required to meet or exceed factory specifications (not decked in this case for obvious reason). 5. Rods are magnefluxed, straightened, fitted with new HD bolts, and resized. 6. Crankshafts are magnefluxed, checked for straightness, and precision ground to the minimum required (mid-standard). 7. Rotating assembly is precision balanced (far more accurate than original factory balance). 8. New oil pump and timing chain set (HD) are installed. 9. New correct, reproduction camshafts and lifters are used. 10. Cylinder heads are completely reconditioned as required to meet or exceed factory specifications, including, magnefluxed to assure no cracks, milling, valve guide work, new seals, new locks, new springs, and three angle valve job. 11. Oil pans, harmonic balancers, and timing chain covers are good used or new reproductions. 12. Rocker arms and push rods are excellent used factory originals or new, correct replacements. 13. Engines are assembled with new gaskets, fuel pump push rod, and oil pump drive shaft, using factory original or new reproduction bolts, and painted with Duplicolor 1607 Chevrolet orange, 500 degree engine paint. 14. The engine plus shipping box will weigh approximately 550 lbs. My partner and I are a two man company that provides the correct engines for early Chevrolet restorations. For 30 years we did almost exclusively Corvette engines but have now branched out to the Chevrolet collector and muscle cars of the ‘60s and early ‘70s because of the demand. We are in our late sixties and are supposed to be winding down so we only do 50 or so engines a year. I am a retired mechanical engineer and my partner is a retired dealership service manager. We have both raced Corvettes for 40 years and have held several national drag records. We have 200+ blocks stored away in a number of old buildings – enough to keep us busy until we “really” retire. The company name is “HiPerformance Restoration Inc, we incorporated in 1980, we are located in a small Nebraska town near Omaha, and we have shipped engines to most of the Continental United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia. Sixteen years on ebay without a single negative feedback - not easy in the engine business. |

Audi RS7 Sportback (2013) first official pictures
Tue, 15 Jan 2013This is the new Audi RS7 Sportback, just unveiled at the 2013 Detroit auto show. It's an A7 Sportback given the hardcore RS treatment, meaning a 552bhp and 516lb ft 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 that will sprint the RS7 to 62mph in 3.9sec. That's faster than the latest Porsche 911 – it seems life just got a bit harder for the Mercedes CLS63 AMG and BMW M6 Gran Coupe.
2015 Volvo XC90 photos leak early
Tue, 26 Aug 2014New Volvo XC90 photos leak out Update: 2015 Volvo XC90 Officially revealed Perhaps Volvo’s Coupe Concept of the new XC90 wasn’t a great move, as it raised expectations that the new 2015 XC90 would be a properly stylish SUV. In fact, it’s a new car that looks more like an evolution of the 2002 XC90 than a cutting-edge new model. But that’s probably being a bit churlish as the new XC90 certainly offers lots of new tech, new engines and a raft of technology that makes the new XC90 very cutting-edge.
