Thirteen mid-sized cars have earned high marks on the insurance industry's newest frontal-crash test, but a pair of Toyota models tested fared worse than the rest. The so-called small overlap test involves crashing the front corner of a car into a barrier at 40 mph. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety devised the test to simulate a collision with a stationary object such as a tree or a utility pole.

Audi has revealed a compact version of the e-Tron at the Detroit Motor Show Audi brought along the first Audi e-Tron to the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Looking like an electric version of the Audi R8, it managed to steal some of the thunder from BMW’s Vision ED concept . Asda starts new fuel price war

DRIVERS are set to keep some extra money in their pockets with the announcement that Asda is to cut its fuel prices. From tomorrow the firm’s forecourts will knock 2p per litre off both its unleaded and its diesel. If past trends continue, rival supermarkets Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s are expected to follow suit and reduce their own fuel prices.
