1967 Mustang 6 Cylinder 5 Speed Transmission T-5 Conversion Kit on 2040-parts.com
Columbus, Ohio, US
This is a very complete conversion kit created to convert an existing 3 or 4 speed manual transmission 6 cylinder 1967 Mustang to a 5 speed T-5 manual transmission. Everything you will need with the exception of the actual transmission is included. We include all the hard to find and completely correct mounting hardware in well labeled packages. We also include an original appearing 1967 manual transmission shifter handle that has been professionally modified to bolt to the T-5. We also include the black with white numerals shifter ball. Unless they look at the shifter ball pattern anyone looking into your car's interior will think it is a 3 or 4 speed. It looks that authentic. Two holes have to be drilled into the bell housing to accept the adapter plate and the drive shaft must be shortened 1 inch. That's it. No cutting or welding required. The T-5 shift lever will come through the floor in the same location as the 3 or 4 speed lever did.
Why convert to a 5 speed T-5 manual transmission? If you have ever driven a 3 or 4 speed manual transmission Classic Mustang at freeway speeds you know that it feels like it is really wound tight. It feels like it should shift again. With the T-5 just slip it into 5th gear over drive and watch the RPM's drop. Now you can cruise at lower RPM's which is easier on the engine and also significantly increases gas mileage. Your engine will last longer, Your wallet will like the increased gas mileage, and the Mustang's noise level will drop significantly. There is a good reason why all modern cars are equipped with overdrive transmissions. Also original 6 cylinder 3 or 4 speeds transmissions have proven to be troublesome over the years and many folks do not enjoy the 3 speed manual transmission. Keep in mind that there was no alteration to your Mustang's body. Keep the take off parts and put the car back to stock at any time. Once you enjoy a 5 speed my guess is switching back will never happen. Here is what you get in this thoroughly thought out kit;
T-5 Adapter plate for a 6 bolt bell housing.
Adapter plate mounting hardware
T-5 Transmission cross member
Cross member correct mounting hardware
T-5 transmission mount insulator
Transmission mount insulator correct mounting hardware
Drive shaft slip yoke for the T-5
T-5 shift lever with stock 4 speed shift lever appearance

This is a complete kit as you can see. We did not include the actual T-5 transmission as many Mustang owners feel they can locate a good used T-5 and save some hard earned money in the process. We can supply a new T-5 at an additional cost if you like the idea of a everything being new.

Vauxhall Antara (2007): first official pictures
Wed, 21 Feb 2007By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 21 February 2007 07:46 Vauxhall Antara: the lowdown After a few years away from the thriving SUV market, Vauxhall is returning with the new Antara. Priced from £19,850 for the entry-level 2.4, the Antara is pegged slightly above the £17k Nissan X-Trail and £18k Honda CR-V. Rather awkwardly, it’s also around £3000 more than the Chevrolet Captiva, its sister car with which it shares its mechanical gubbins.
Concept Car of the Week: Mercury El Gato (1970)
Fri, 24 May 2013Of all the brands that marked American automobile history, Mercury had never been the most popular or the most loved, which ultimately led to its demise in 2011 when Ford chose to terminate the brand. To be fair only a handful of Mercury models are worth remembering: the 1950 Mercury Eight iconic base for custom cars, the 1955 Montclair, the Mustang-based Cougar, the Marauder X-100, the evil Cyclone Spoiler. However one of their coolest creations is fairly unknown mostly due its short concept car life: El Gato, in Spanish translating as "The Cat".
Ferrari 458 Italia Spider leaks out. Probably.
Sat, 20 Aug 2011Ferrari 458 Italia Spider leaks out - probably It’s only a couple of weeks since we reported that Ferrari would be taking the convertible 458 to Frankfurt, and now we have a set of three leaked photos of the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider in all its glory, doubtless leaked out from a magazine printers. We’re not completely convinced the photos of the 458 Spider are real – they seem familiar somehow and could be good Photoshops – but if they are real there’s no doubt Ferrari won’t be amused – as Italians seldom are under these circumstances. But assuming the photos are real they just tell us what we already know – the 458 Spider is the regular 458 Italia with its roof chopped off.
