The Infiniti Essence Concept is a show-pleaser, designed to grab a few headlines and give Nissan (makers of the Infiniti – which is Nissan’s equivalent of Toyota’s Lexus) some coverage of the brand ahead of the launch of its cars in Europe. And we’ve got to admit, a classy-looking, swoopy-coupe with a few eco-credentials is not a bad way to go. The 100EX concept on which the production car is based stole the 2004 Geneva show too, and features which we all thought would only be seen on the concept, such as the teak ‘decking’ on the hood cover and the rear-hinged suicide doors, have made it to the finished car. Production starts at Goodwood this summer.

Insane £2.8m Lamborghini Veneno Roadster: in pictures

One of the reassuring things about the, uh, extraordinary Lamborghini Veneno that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show was that Lamborghini would only build three of them. So the chances of it actually poking your eye out were really rather slim. Now though, Lamborghini has confirmed it will also build the even more astonishing Veneno Roadster pictured above.
