Volkswagen preps the Golf EV for 2013 launch

Volkswagen AG has begun delivery of a second test fleet of Golf blue-e-motion EVs to customers in Germany, the automaker said in a statement. Of the 80 cars being tested in the fleet, 53 will be delivered in Berlin, with the rest going to Hannover and Wolfsburg. The vehicles will be distributed to businesses, public bodies and private motorists, although the majority of cars in Berlin will be tested by corporate customers, as VW views this group as the largest market for EVs in the future.

There are less than two weeks left for European design students to submit their exterior entry to the Car Design News - Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design competition. The competition, which closes to entries on Friday February 11th, asks students to design a lounge exterior, based around the design of one of the three finalists of the interior competition. Could these Ford Mondeos signal a wagon rebirth?

These two Ford Mondeo wagons were spotted around the Detroit area this past week. While the vehicle without camouflage is all standard Mondeo in its exterior appearance, the possibility exists that the camo on the second car could hide a Fusion front end. The most likely explanation is that these are mules of some kind, but we're holding out hope that Ford is testing the wagon waters in the United States once again.
