Le Mans champ: laser lights are the future

Three-time Le Mans 24 Hours race champion Allan McNish has told us that technology first trialled at the world famous endurance event often makes it on to road cars – and this year’s big thing will be laser lights. Speaking ahead of Le Mans 2014, McNish said that racing is more relevant to everyday cars than people think – with features from seat belts to windscreen wipers debuting at the race. Automotive Interiors Expo 2010

The first Automotive Interiors Expo, an event that was part of no less than five automotive trade exhibitions gathered together at the Stuttgart Messe, took place in southern Germany from the 22 to 24 of June. The exhibitions, comprising European Automotive Components Expo, Automotive Testing Expo, Vehicle Dynamics Expo and Engine Expo, showcased the latest technologies and services from over 500 suppliers to the automotive industry. Grouped in three large halls, the Expo covered conventional powertrains and batteries right through to vehicle electrical systems and crash testing, but it also featured a panel of experts discussing the color, feel and shape of material design, synergies and design challenges; safety, lighting and HMI's; and interior component design as a means of achieving sustainable and lightweight vehicles.

Range Rover Evoque WWCOTY 2012 The judging panel of the Women’s World Car of the Year has voted the Range Rover Evoque overall winner and Luxury car of the year. Has there been a car award in the last year for which the Evoque was eligible and didn’t come out on top? To add to its trophy cabinet the Evoque can now call itself  ’Women’s World Car of the Year 2012′ after the judging panel of women journalists from 12 countries voted the Range Rover Evoque the Supreme winner as well as Best Luxury Car 2012.
