1968-1975 Corvette Convertible Al Knoch Black Molded 80/20 Loop Carpet
New Old
Stock NOS
This is a new carpet set I bought from Al Knoch several years ago for my 1968 Corvette 427 convertible. I was delayed in changing the carpets until after redoing the body and painting due to moving, so when I got ready, I couldn't find it. It was packed somewhere, and I ended up buying another set so I could finish the car.
I just recently found the box and am disappointed as it is nicer carpet than what I put in the car. If you know Corvette carpet, then you know Al Knoch made the best reproduction carpet of any. You also know it is expensive at $268 a set now, but since I bought this when it was cheaper, you have a chance to get it cheaper.
It does have a couple of
spots that look odd, I guess from being packed for so long. I think they show in
the pictures, but I'll try describing them for you anyway. View the pictures carefully. I'll send more if you want.
Normally, we don't do returns. However, since individuals
view things differently and it is hard to show in pictures, if you really don't like it, since it has been
packed away, I will consider a return and refund but only the item
cost, not the shipping.
- All carpet requires some fitting.
You have to cut and trim to fit seats in and around trim panels.
If you cut it, you can't return it.
Be sure before you cut anything. -
The rear luggage area piece has a odd area
about an inch and half wide by a foot long. It looks like it is smashed flat or
worn or something. Since it wasn't used, it can't be worn. It is in the rear and will never be seen anyway.
The right rear inner fender cover has an odd
cut. I guess this is for going around the convertible top mounting and all, but
the left side isn't like that. Maybe they forgot to cut the left side.
The heel/foot pad on the driver's side front
floor is correct for '68 - '74. I know it matches my old original
piece exactly. I checked other year cars listed here on eBay and the heel/foot pad is the same in those cars up to 1974. I haven't found a clear picture of a 1975 to know.
Unlike some carpet for sale, this is an exact match of the original Corvette carpet.
This should work in 1968 to 1975
convertibles although this is the 80/20 loop carpet and I believe the later
years didn't use that.
Insurance will be required on this shipping due to the price of the carpet.

Lincoln introduces Black Label trim at Pebble Beach
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Lincoln introduced its hoity-toity Black Label Collection at Pebble Beach on Thursday. In the words of Jim Farley, “The new Lincoln Motor Company is built on three foundational elements -- design, quality and personal service; Black Label represents our highest expression of these elements.” Lincoln says its Black Label dealers will collaborate to create a personal, integrated client shopping and ownership experience, with respect for the luxury of time. We're not sure exactly what that means, but if the dealers can pick up the cars for gas, a wash and some fast food, that would be great.

Audi tracks down the last Horch
Fri, 27 Nov 2009The last Horch built, found in the middle of Texas It’s been looking likely for a while that now VW has taken control of Porsche it may decide to rebrand the VW Group as Auto Union. Auto Union was the root of Audi, and was formed in the ’30s when Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer joined forces to become Auto Union and pool their resources to cope with the depression (sound familiar?). Which might explain why Audi has been scouring the planet for rare cars from its Auto Union days.
