Attention: GM enthusiasts up for auction “OEM” 1968-72, A-Body roof line. Roof was removed from a rust-free 1970 Pontiac LeMans hardtop. Roof is in excellent condition. Roof was cut off below the lead seams, leaving plenty of material for installing it on any GM, A-Body model. Models include: Chevelle, Malibu, Super Sport, Skylark, Grand Sport, GSX, Cutlass, 442, Supreme, GTO, Judge, LeMans and Tempest. Roof was chemically stripped to bare metal and primed with a commercial grade automotive primer. Reproduction roofs are available and retail for over $400.00! Given the large size of the roof, freight costs will vary depending on your location. Freight costs will range from $400.00 - 500.00 (includes cost for building crate). E-mail me for a more exact freight estimate. Keep in mind that shipping to a business with a forklift or dock will always result in a lower cost. I will consider hauling the roof in my pick-up truck a distance of 350 miles to deliver roof. Provided my diesel costs are paid for. Winning bidder is welcome to pick roof up or arrange their own shipping. The roof is located in Bradley, Illinois 60615 (65 miles south of Chicago). NHTSA unveils new safety ratings; BMW and Hyundai first to get five stars
Tue, 05 Oct 2010The 2011 BMW 5-series and the Hyundai Sonata were the first two cars to achieve five-star ratings under NHTSA's revised safety ratings announced on Tuesday. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will rate a total of 24 cars, 20 SUVs, nine pickups and two vans for the 2011 model year. The federal agency has significantly modified its rating process and will now grade side-pole testing and crash-prevention technologies such as lane-departure warning and electronic stability control.
