Scottsdale auction results: Video wrap-ups recount total sales

Now that the 2012 Scottsdale collector-car auctions in Arizona have come to a close, our friends at Hagerty Insurance have wrapped up all the numbers from the auctions in their latest edition of “Hagerty Classic Car TV.” In this episode, host Rob Sass, author Colin Comer and publisher Dave Kinney explore the 2012 sales figures and take a closer look at some of the more memorable vehicles, including a 1948 Tucker Torpedo and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL alloy Gullwing. Volvo teases new Concept ES ahead of 2014 Geneva Motor Show

Volvo Volvo has released these mysterious teaser shots of its new Concept ES show car ahead of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Although largely covered in a dustsheet - annoyingly - we can still see the first details of the new car, which has the silhouette of a long shooting brake. It's also the first confirmation of the name of the car: Concept ES harks back to the 480 ES of the late 1980s, which gave Volvo a distinctive coupe with pop-up headlamps and an unusual rear end (see below).

Mercedes SLS Black Series: The Video

Just a couple of days on from the reveal of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, Mercedes delivers a video of their new Black Series. And the SLS Black probably gets closer to what the McLaren SLR offered than the regular SLS does, although it’s still down on the power of the SLR, and its performance to 62mph is no better and its top speed is 10mph slower. Still, even if it will cost around £200k, it’s still a big chunk cheaper than the SLR was.
