Fiat 500L – Production version of Elle-Zero at Geneva 2012

The Fiat ElleZero becomes the Fiat 500L for production Fiat has confirmed that the Elle-Zero will debut at the Geneva Motor Show as the Fiat 500L Compact MPV. Earlier this month we reported that Fiat were heading to the Geneva Motor Show in March with a new compact MPV – the Fiat Elle-Zero, which they are. But instead of using the code name for the new mini MPV as the production moniker, they’ve decided the new car will join the 500 family as the Fiat 500L.

GMC Granite concept (w/ Video)

The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Detroit, heart of the American car industry, traditionally hosts the first motor show of the year each January. Officially known as the North American International Auto Show – or NAIAS – it’s a chance for carmakers to kick-start the coming 12 months with a bit of glamour and sparkle.
