These are in very nice shape--only one damaged area worth mentioning--a piece of the foam arm rest on one seat has a small piece gouged out. This can be repaired and repainted very easily. These seat backs were dirty. I cleaned these seat backs with Simple Green and now they look very nice, but a little more effort would certainly help. They show light use, with all of the stitching and piping is excellent condition.
Placement on Vehicle:Left, Right, Rear Warranty:No Surface Finish:Vinyl Country/Region of Manufacture:United States

These are the left and right seat backs that are installed in the well of the cargo area and also comprise the cargo deck of the old 10-passenger Ford station wagons--I believe these came out of a Country Sedan or Ranch Wagon.  These are in very nice shape--with only minor damage to one of the arm rests--a small chuck of foam is missing, but can easily be repaired and repainted.  There are the usual signs of wear but the sewing and piping are in perfect shape--apparently these seat backs were not used often and were in the stowed position for most of the last 48 years.  These seat backs were dirty from storage after they were removed from the car.  I cleaned them with Simple Green and now they look very nice, but some more work would certainly help.

These seat backs are a light green and are designed for two people on each side.  I am new to restorations, but I am told that since these seat backs are such a light shade, they can be dyed just about any color to match other Ford interiors.  This auction is for two seat backs only--unfortunately, the seat bottoms were sold on eBay before we found the backs stashed away at the restoration shop. These seat backs also make up the cargo deck that accessible from the tailgate when the seats are stowed.

The word GALAXIE was added to the Subtitle to facilitate searches.  These seats do not fit any 1968 Galaxie coupes, sedans or hard tops--only 1968 full sized station wagons--Country Squire, Country Sedan and Ranch Wagons.  If you do not need seat backs and just need the deck for the footwell in the back of your 10-passenger '68 Ford wagon, this auction is also for you.

CCTV 'Spy cars' to be banned

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

CCTV "SPY CARS" used to catch people who park illegally is to be banned, the Government announced, marking a victory for drivers and shoppers. The move will rein in "greedy councils" who use the method of fining as a "cash cow", and bring to an end the "plague" of tickets being issued by post. Parking wardens will instead have to fix tickets directly to windscreens, making it illegal for councils to issue penalties to drivers using just the CCTV spy cars currently used for on-street parking enforcement.

Ford door protector takes the sting out of dings

Thu, 22 Sep 2011

Nothing ruins car joy like a door ding--whether it's the first blemish on your pride and joy or the latest door divot. Now, the engineers at Ford in Europe have developed a way to take the sting out of the parking lot--a retractable door-edge protector for the Ford Focus. It's no surprise that this comes from Europe, where roads are narrow and parking spaces are squeezed tight.
