The 2011 Kia Optima will replace the Kia Magentis in the UK A week or two ago we reported on the first info on the 2011 Kia Magentis we expected to see at the New York Motor Show this week. But because we thought that Kia would change the name before bringing it to the UK and Europe, we headed that story up with both the Optima and Magentis moniker. But not this time.

Government bid to cut driving options

PLANS DESIGNED to reduce petrol prices at motorway service stations and a freeze on the cost of the MoT test have been announced by the Government. A crackdown on whiplash injury fraud is also part of the driver-friendly package to be introduced from next year. Justice Secretary Chris Grayling said t he statutory maximum price of the MoT test for a car will be frozen at £54.85 until 2015 - potentially saving up to £50 million for drivers every year.

Chrysler investigated after collapse of Getrag deal

The state of Indiana is investigating Chrysler LLC for securities fraud over the collapse of a joint venture with Getrag Transmission LLC. Jim Gavin, a spokesman for Secretary of State Todd Rokita, today confirmed a Kokomo Tribune report that said the investigation began two weeks ago. "There have been no complaints or allegations made," the paper quoted Rokita saying in a speech Tuesday.
