Petrol cars twice as likely to fail MOT on emissions

The latest MOT test data shows that 26.2% of all cars tested fail on excess exhaust emissions – and surprisingly petrol cars fail more than twice as often as diesels in this part of the annual roadworthiness test. According to the official Vehicle Operator and Standard Agency (VOSA) figures, which cover all of 2010 and the first nine months of 2011, 9.7% of petrol cars failed to meet MOT emissions standards compared to just 3.9% of diesels. Hyundai is getting ready for the Big Game, and by that we really mean the big ad game, and the stars of their seventh consecutive Super Bowl ads will be the 2015 Genesis and the 2014 Elantra. Last year's Super Bowl ad from the automaker featured the Hyundai Santa Fe in two spots titled "Epic Playdate" and "Team," both of which were well received. For Super Bowl XLVIII, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis spot titled "Dad's Sixth Sense" is set to air during the first quarter of the game, and all Hyundai is saying for now is that it will highlight the sedan's Automatic Emergency Braking feature in a way that relates to the near-misses and saves of everyday parenting.
