Completely Rebuilt 1969 428 Super Cobra Jet Engine Assembly with the following details: 

Cylinder Block is dated 8M17 (December 17, 1968). Hot tanked and magnafluxed, free of cracks and defects. Bore .030 over with correct "3-finger" webbing and scratch welded "C" on rear. 
Heads are C80E-6090-N with date codes, both with date codes of 9A16 (January 16, 1969) with 427 adjustable rocker assemblies. 
Intake is stock Cobra Jet C80E-9425-C with a date code of 9A22 (January 22, 1969). 
Crankshaft is 1UA 
Rods are C6AE-E LeMans style. 
Harmonic Balancer is C8AE-C with C9ZE-A Damper or "Cookie-Cutter" 
Auction includes a Manual Flywheel.
C9AE Rebuilt Ford Water pump 
Reproduction Cast Iron Exhaust Manifolds. 
428 SCJ Oil Filter Adapter 
Auction Includes your choice of New reproduction Valve Covers: Chrome Power by Ford, Finned Aluminum or "Snake" Finned Aluminum.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle to launch with Black Turbo edition

Volkswagen is borrowing a page from sister company Porsche and will turn to the color black to sex up the soon-to-arrive 2012 VW Beetle--and to draw attention to a preorder program launching this year. The Beetle Black Turbo edition follows in the lineage of Porsche 911s augmented with Black editions, and the VW will sticker for $25,720, including shipping. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, which is the same as the regular turbo Beetle--and VW's hot hatch, the GTI.

Some numbers are magical, and in the race to build the most fuel-efficient electric car, the figure that is rapidly coming to mean the most is 100. Triple digits, as in 100 mpg-e. Ford has fired the latest shot in this green-car war, claiming that the Focus electric will be the first five-passenger vehicle to break the 100-mpg-e barrier.

A bespoke Ferrari built by the Italian supercar manufacturer's secretive Special Projects department has undergone its first shakedown test at the Fiorano test track. The Pininfarina-designed P540 Superfast Aperta was comissioned in 2008 by the necessarily wealthy Edward Walson, son of John Walson, the inventor of cable television. Based on the 599 GTB Fiorano, the one-off machine was inspired by a Carrozzeria Fantuzzi-designed model featured in the 1968 Fellini film Toby Dammit. 'I had always dreamed of designing sports cars,' said Watson. 'When I saw this film the decision came of its own accord: one day I would have 'my' Ferrari.
