1969 BIG BAD ORANGE AMERICAN MOTORS AMX
A Giclee Process Canvas Fine Art Print by Richard Meredith Browne
|
The Subject In 1968, American Motors entered the pony car war with the Javelin. While the competition offered body style variations such as convertibles, coupes, and fastbacks, AMC went in another direction and marketed a shortened sportier model called the AMX.
According to information supplied by C.L. Zinn II, author of "AMX Photo Archive: From Concept to Reality", published by Iconografix, Inc. "Work on the Javelin was done in the American Studio headed by Bob Nixin. A short while latter (late 1965) the AMX was started in the Advance Design Studio headed by Chuck Mashigan."
When introduced in 1968 the AMX had a suggested list price of $3,245. Equipped with the optional 390 cubic inch V-8, it was promoted as having a top speed of 130 mph.
Only 284 Big Bad Orange AMXs were produced in 1969.
Individually Printed By The Artist Numbered printings of this illustration on canvas will be limited to an issue of 300. Much as in the early days of print making each printing is done one-at-a-time. That means your print will be produced for you, by the artist, when you place your order rather than coming from a stock of pre-printed inventory.
Print Specifications: Type: Unframed archival giclee Edition Issue: Limited to 300, signed and numbered with certificate of authenticity. IMPORTANT: The c.o.a. will be made out to the name of the buyer unless otherwise specified. If you are purchasing the print as a gift be sure to leave a message with that person's name when you make payment. Image Size: Sized to fit within an 8 x 10 inch standard art opening of a precut mat. Canvas Size: 8.5 x 11 inches Media: Cotton-poly artist canvas and archival pigmented inks.
MOUNTING YOUR PRINT: This print will need to be mounted flat either behind a mat with an 8"x10" art opening or in an 8.5"x11" frame with no mat. For more information about mounting and framing your canvas print go to my "ME" page by clicking HERE
Enlargement Of This Illustration Is Available You can have your print produced in a larger size by adding the purchase of an enlargement option. Enlargement is not a second print, it's a service that can only be applied to a print purchase. The eBay checkout program does not provide a means by which print sizes at different prices can be processed from one listing; eBay considers the print and the service to enlarge the print as two different items and requires that both be purchased from separate listings.
Two sizes of enlargement are available: Size B: 11 x 14 image on 11 x 17 inch canvas for an additional $10.00 Size C: 16 x 20 image on 17 x 22 inch canvas for an additional $25.00 Your total cost will be the price of the print + the price of the enlargement option.
Ordering an enlarged print requires the purchase of two listings: Step 1) You purchase the print from this listing. Step 2) You add the purchase of the enlargement size option that you want. NOTE: To find the links to the enlargement option listings scroll to the Categories box on the left side of this page.

This is the Lexus LF-NX concept SUV. It’s a BMW X3-sized crossover that’ll sport hybrid power and entice would-be Lexus buyers who don’t need a car as big as the RX hybrid SUV. That is, if the crazy styling doesn’t put them off, because this is certainly one of the more polarising concept designs we’ve seen in recent times.

The second teaser for the Lamborghini Jota
Lamborghini are committed to showing a new car at every major motor show over the next two years. Which for a car maker with a basic range of just two cars is a pretty tall order. But to make their lives a little easier Lamborghini has decided that ‘New’ means new variant as well as new model.
