1969 Cb750 Honda Wrinkle Gas Tank Sandcast Cb on 2040-parts.com
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
Here I have for sale a very hard to find (yes rare) 2nd generation Sandcast wrinkle tank. This tank was fitted to early production Sandcast Honda CB750 motorcycles, immediately following the discontinuation of the19 litre wrinkle tank. This second generation tank is found on bikes from around frame number 600 to Frame 1940. The more common (and not so hard to find) 3rd generation wrinkle tank was fitted on all early bikes from approximately frame number 1940 to around frame 13,000. The two (2) main distinguishing features of the 2nd generation tank is the three clearly seen groups of wrinkles, the additional groupss of wrinkles being found on each side of the tunnel beside the usual top wrinkle group, plus a raised petcock pad (clearly distinguishable in the photos) which allowed the early petcock to be fitted. This early petcock could not be easily fitted to the later wrinkle tank. Research of Honda factory literature supports this tank's date of manufacture as being appropriate for fitting to vins beginning around frame number 600 to as high as around frame 1937 or so. Simply put, where do you think you will find another one, let alone one in as good a condition as this one. My wife isn't in as good condition and you certainly won't find another like her. No sir. I have been an active restorer of vintage and classic motorcycles including many a Honda Sandcast for many, many decades and have only ever seen a few of these tanks come up for sale in the last 10 years, so if you have an early Sandcast and don't have this tank then here is an opportunity to snap up this item to more complete your bike. This tank has no internal rust, the outside being raw steel with primer, does not leak and comes with original badge mounting hardware. There is one dent on the right rear aspect of the tank. My eBay feedback is untarnished so what you're looking at in the photos is what's for sale. email if you have a question. |

Renault Eolab Concept
Wed, 17 Sep 2014Renault has bucked the trend of rather uninspiring Paris Motor Show previews with the Eolab. This B-segment-sized car that has been designed to a brief that states it must return fuel economy of 2l/100km (118mpg US/141mpg UK), and that all of its major technical innovations must be production-feasible by the year 2020. The Eolab is actually two cars – the Eolab prototype, which the engineering team has signed off as capable of 1l/100km (235mpg US/282mpg UK), and the Eolab Concept, which was overseen by the design team.
Ford Fiesta “Centura” – 100 years of Ford UK
Mon, 08 Aug 2011Ford Fiesta Centura Ford isn’t a British company – even if many of us think of Ford as a patriotic buy – although they’ve been in the UK for 100 years. And to celebrate that landmark they’ve revealed the Ford Fiesta Centura, a limited edition of just 1,000 cars. Based on the Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, the Fiesta Centura gets £600 worth of extras – metallic paint (Panther Black only), chrome mirrors, 16″ alloys, auto lights and wipers, rear parking sensors, reversing camera and LED running lights – and costs £13,395 for the three-door and £13,995 for the five door.

Tue, 08 Jan 2013The 2013 Toyota Yaris Trend has been launched with styling tweaks and the Yaris TR and SR get new Appearance Packs. Toyota are aiming the Yaris Tend at ‘younger, design-conscious consumers’, so they’ve been busy giving the Trend a tweak or three to make it more appealing to their target demographic. That means keeping the chrome bits round the nose from the previous Yaris Trend, with versions optioned in white getting matching covers in the headlamp units, chrome door sills and mirrors and blacked-out B and C Pillars for a ‘floating roof’ effect.
