Brand:GM
This is a very rare find! This is a stock, GM, numbers matching power
antenna for a 1969 Firebird, Trans-Am, (Camaros & Firebird 1967-68?) that
was taken out of a 1969 Firebird over 30
years ago. As you can see, this unit looks complete, and even comes with upper
and lower fender pads, chrome nut and rubber o-ring, etc. It was recently inspected, tested, lubricated,
adjusted, and cleaned up and it works great!
The brushes, bearings, etc., were all checked out and are in great
condition. It extends and retracts
smoothly and all the way as it should (from a length of about 9” retracted to
57” fully extended). The power antenna
switch works great, all of the wiring is in good shape, and it even comes
complete with its difficult-to-find mounting bracket!
This antenna, although in very nice
condition, cosmetically does have some small imperfections that you may want to
address if you want to make it show quality.
The mast has good chrome, but does have a small round spot on the lower
section where the copper shows. (I think
this may be a factory flaw.) You have to
look very closely to see the spot. Also,
the third mast section has a very small chip out of the very end, also
difficult to see unless you look closely.
(I have included a close-up photo of this area.) The antenna is not perfect, but is in
cosmetically nice overall condition and ready to be installed as-is. I have a schematic I found online that shows that this unit is
numbers matching for a 1969 Firebird and probably Trans-Am as well. (It's a pdf file titled 1967-76 Firebird Parts and Illustration catalog posted by teufert.net. I can send you the link if you are interested; I just wasn't sure how to post the link or a copy of the page in this listing.) Over the years I have looked at Firebird,
Trans-Am, and Camaro antennas, along with other parts, and have never found a
unit this nice or complete. If you have
a need for this very rare optional power antenna for your Firebird, Trans Am,
or Camaro, this may be your only opportunity for a very long time. There’s a good chance you will never see one
this nice ever again! It will be packed
well and shipped fully insured so that it will arrive to you in good
condition. Thanks for viewing this
auction!

When a car has been around for nearly 50 years, like the Ford Mustang, it is bound to go through many generational styling changes. In most cases, it will also be the subject of several design studies and concepts that never make it to the auto show stage. With the 2015 Ford Mustang just days away, we though it would be a good time to look back on some of those concepts that most of the world never got to see.

Honda has teamed up with Mugen again for a new hotrod special - but this one's a hybrid. The new Honda CR-Z Mugen is a slightly more ecologically sound proposition than the banzai 2009 Civic Type R Mugen, and brings the race car treatment to Honda's hybrid coupe. However, at this stage it's a one-off prototype, with no firm commitment to build even a limited run.

During its time under Ford's Premier Automotive Group umbrella, the Jaguar XK saw two iterations. The first was a much-needed replacement for the aging XJS. The second cribbed cues from the classic E-Type, as well as from designer Ian Callum's previous work at Aston Martin.
