Caterham CSR 175 – Tokyo Catchup

Fri, 23 Oct 2009

The CAterham CSR 175 revealed at Tokyo We reported a few weeks ago that with the economic crisis still enveloping car makers round the world the Tokyo Motor Show was going to be almost exclusively domestic. Just Lotus – who brought the limited edition Lotus Scura – and Alpina – who brought the LWB B7 – were expected to be there to represent the rest of the world. But Caterham – inheritors of Colin Chapman’s Lotus 7  heritage – took advantage of some cheap floor space and turned up with a new car – the Caterham CSR 175./p> The CSR is Caterham’s top of the range, and this CSR 175 slots in as the bottom of the top – if that makes sense.

Audi Stop-Start Introduced

Audi is to introduce Stop Start on a number of its cars from 3rd quarter 2009 Of all the major car makers, Audi has probably coped with the changing car landscape better than the rest. From posting record car sales for 2008, despite the gloom and doom that has permeated the whole car industry, to launching more new models than you can count, the push is onward and upward. And the world has fallen in love with its cars, from modest little hatchbacks to Supercars.

After all, with useless range and sky-high prices electric cars have little going for them. But it looks like Axeon -Europe’s  leading independent developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems - has found a nice little niche that suits an electric vehicle down to the ground – Safari transport.
