This auction is for a Holley 1969 Ford, Mustang, Comet, Cougar & Fairlane Cobra Jet , G.T 428 Engine, automatic transmission, four-barrel carburetor. The carburetor air horn is stamped: C9AF 9510-N List 4280 with a date of 874, Forth week of July 1968. Early production, probably for one of the first models for the year. The carburetor has the correct metering blocks: 5673 (front) and 5671 (rear). This is a nice complete carburetor core. It has the correct front float bowl that is threaded on both sides and a new fuel transfer tube and fittings, as well as a new choke cover. There are no frozen parts. All parts move freely. This is an excellent carburetor for a Concours restoration. The carburetor is sold as is with no returns. Recommend having the carburetor rebuilt by a professional rebuilder. Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107 hit by Toyota recall
Sun, 31 Jan 2010The Peugeot 107 (pictured) and the Citroen C1 are being recalled for faulty accelerators Update: We have heard from Citroen who tell us just 36 C1s in the UK are affected by the sticking accelerator problem. Update 2: We’ve now heard from Peugeot who say 6,000 Peugeot 107s in the UK are affected by the faulty throttle pedal. This last few days have turned out to be a real nightmare for Japanese car makers, with first the Toyota recall for a sticking accelerator and then the Honda Jazz/Fit recall for a faulty electric window switch.
Jaguar Land Rover U-turn: all three UK plants saved
Fri, 15 Oct 2010Jaguar Land Rover today surprised us all by announcing that it wouldn't be closing any of its three UK plants. CEO of Tata Motors Carl-Peter Forster had told CAR as recently as the Paris motor show a few weeks ago that one plant would shut. Instead, today the unions and Jaguar Land Rover hailed a landmark deal to save jobs and all three plants at Castle Bromwich, Solihull and Halewood.
