1970  -  1972 OLDSMOBILE HURST DUAL-GATE NOS CHROME SLIDER PLATE.  This is a brand new, never used, 3-piece set. Its original Hurst item ordered years ago just after the Mr. Gasket Company bought out Hurst Performance. They actively offered all the Hurst parts inventory for sale. This chrome slide plate was installed on all Dual-Gate shifters, to open and close the “performance” side of the shift pattern. It came with a small black plastic knob, and a tiny retainer spring. This famous shifter was first used on the ’68 and ’69 Hurst/olds, and then became an option on all Cutlass and 442 in ’70, ’71, and ’72 with a 3-speed automatic trans. Remained standard on 72 Hurst/Olds, as well as featured on ’73, ’74, and ’75 Hursts.

The set we have consists of all 3 pieces mentioned above, as well as a photocopy of the original box that Mr. Gasket Co. delivered these items in. Theres no reliable repro that I know of, and anyway theres really nothing better than NOS for your car. A perfect finishing touch for your Hurst Dual-Gate shifter.

GM recalls nearly 15,000 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala sedans

Fri, 12 Aug 2011

General Motors is recalling about 15,000 vehicles to fix two problems--reprogramming the electronic stability control in some 2012 Buick LaCrosse cars and rerouting the power-steering hose on the 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The automaker is recalling 10,344 Impalas to reroute the upper power-steering house that could fail because of heat from the catalytic converter. As a result, the hose sprays fluid over the catalytic converter, causing smoke and potential fire.
