For sale: A ready to install 1970 production year, 350 cubic inch, 360 horsepower HP engine for a Camaro Z28 with a 4 speed transmission. These engines are identical to the 1970 Corvette LT1 370hp engine except for the oil pan and the stamping. There is a standard, one year warranty.  If you are interested, please read the details below.  If you have further questions, go to "Questions and answers about this item" near the bottom of this listing and select "ask a question", hit "other", then hit "continue".  If this engine is dated too early or too late for your car, we can certainly build one that matches your car.   Be assured that this engine is painted the correct color.  We are engine builders, not cameramen.  Please check out the other engines we currently have listed.  Finally, if you think this is a lot of money to spend on a correct engine, remember that it will not only increase the value of your car by about twice this amount, you will have a new engine.  Its a win win.

NOTE:  If it is paid for in advance, we can deliver this free of charge to the Bloomington Gold swap meet that begins June 23 in Indianapolis.

Stamping: The engine assembly stamping on this engine was done by myself and is a correct copy of the stamping done by GM with simulated broach marks.  I have been doing these stampings for nearly 40 years and my previous stampings have passed literally hundreds of NCRS judging inspections, Bloomington Gold judging, and the scrutiny of major auctions over all these past years.  As far as I know, engine assembly stamping is totally legal in all 50 states but not to be confused with VIN stamping.  Even with my record, can I absolutely guarantee that this stamping will pass any and all judging, no.

Shipping: This engine can be picked up in Springfield, Nebraska, which is just south west of Omaha. If it needs to be shipped, I get a major discount with UPS Freight (a division of UPS) and will certainly pass that pricing along to you if you so choose. Or I will deliver the engine to any of the major carriers located in Omaha free of charge. If the engine is shipped, I will build a completely enclosed box with a pallet type bottom for $50. Trust me, the box is sturdy and will get the engine to you safe and sound. Over the past year, the charge for shipping a complete engine to a business (or a UPS terminal) on the east or west coast has been averaging $400 using my discounts. Cost varies depending on destination and other variables.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.

My partner and I are a two man company that provides the correct engines for early Chevrolet restorations. For 30 years we did almost exclusively Corvette engines but have now branched out to the Chevrolet collector and muscle cars of the ‘60s and early ‘70s because of the demand. We are in our late sixties and are supposed to be winding down so we only do 50 or so engines a year. I am a retired mechanical engineer and my partner is a retired dealership service manager. We have both raced Corvettes for 40 years and have held several national drag records. We have 200+ blocks stored away in a number of old buildings – enough to keep us busy until we “really” retire. The company name is “HiPerformance Restoration Inc, we incorporated in 1980, we are located in a small Nebraska town near Omaha, and we have shipped engines to most of the Continental United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia.  Sixteen years on ebay without a single negative feedback - not easy in the engine business.

Ferrari F620 arriving at Geneva?

Mon, 06 Feb 2012

Is this how the Ferrari 599's replacement will look? Reports this weekend say that the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GTB – the Ferrari F620 – will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Back in November we published spy photos of the replacement for the Ferrari 599, out testing in Italy in a pile of padded camouflage, and suggested it would be the Ferrari F620 (or even the F600) when it arrived.
