And so it is with the Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition. So before the 2012 S-Class arrives with its Magic Sky and Magic Body and Magic everything else, Mercedes has bolted a lot of its high-end cosmetics to the more lowly S-Class models to try and wring the last few sales out of a car that is long in the tooth and no longer as good as the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 or Jaguar XJ.
Who's Where: Satoshi Wada to open independent design studio
Tue, 16 Jun 2009Satoshi Wada, former Senior Designer at Audi AG and Nissan Design Japan, is set to open his own design studio. Called SWdesign TOKYO, his ambitious plan follows on from a growing line of design managers who have left successful OEMs to establish their own design practices. Wada, who resigned from Audi AG in Ingolstadt earlier this month, told CDN he is aiming "to create a new vision with my own independent design studio in Tokyo".
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport gets its Guinness World Speed Record back
Mon, 15 Apr 2013According to Guinness at the time, putting a limiter on a production car changed the Veyron and made the record invalid. But it seems Guinness has had a rethink. From originally stating that “…as the car’s speed limiter was deactivated, this modification was against the official guidelines” they have now decided that doesn’t matter any more because Bugatti hasn’t changed the Super Sport in any other way.
