A VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION ORIGINAL 1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE MONTE CARLO AM FM DELCO RADIO

PERHAPS THIS WAS FOR OTHER CHEVY MODELS FOR 1970 LIKE THE IMPALA?  I AM NOT SURE

THIS ONE CAME OUT OF A 1970 CHEVELLE SS 396 PARTS CAR

I AM NOT CERTAIN WHY THIS WAS A ONE YEAR RADIO; PERHAPS IT IS THE UNIQUE CONNECTING PLUG?  OR THE FACE DESIGN?

THE RADIO POWERS UP AND LIGHTS UP.  THE ON/OFF VOLUME SHAFT IS FREE AND CLICKS PROPERLY TO THE OFF POSITION.   STATIC COMES OUT OF THE SPEAKER, BUT I WAS USING A COAT HANGER FOR AN ANTENNA AND HAVE NO WAS TO REALLY TEST PROPERLY.

THE DENTAL FLOSS LIKE STRING THAT OPERATES THE AM FM SELECTOR IS CUT SO THE LEVER ON THE FRONT OF THE RADIO DOES NOT CHANGE FROM AM TO FM.  HOWEVER, IT DOES MANUALLY MOVE WITH NO BINDING OR PROBLEM.  NEW STRING WILL FIX THE SELECTOR.   DIAL NEEDLE IS BROKEN SO THE TUNING KNOB DOES NOT CHANGE THE INDICATOR.

THE TUNING SHAFT TURNS FREELY AND MOVES THE DIAL PROPERLY FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND BACK.  THE PUSH BUTTONS ARE ALSO FREE FROM ANY BINDING AND MOVE THE NEEDLE  TO THE SELECTED STATION LOCATION.  THE VOLUME AND TONE SHAFTS ARE ALSO FREE AND SMOOTH

THE RADIO IS MISSING ONE KNOB.  IT COMES WITH THE TUNING KNOB AND THE TONE CONTROL KNOB.  THE ON OFF VOLUMN KNOB IS MISSING

I HAVE NOT IDEA WHAT IT NEEDS, BUT SINCE IT POWERS UP I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT IT NEEDS MUCH WORK?

ALSO LOOKS LIKE THE FACE PLATE IS AN EASY RESTORATION

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 12 January 2007 09:57 Volkswagen boss Wolfgang Bernhard has quit the company as part of a shake-up at Europe's biggest car maker. The news comes as little surprise after months of uncertainty and change at the top of VW. Bernhard built a reputation as an abrasive operator in his short stint as CEO of the Wolfsburg company and had numerous confrontations with unions as he pushed through more modern working practices.

Saab seeks court protection from creditors

Wed, 07 Sep 2011

Saab is filing for protection from creditors from a Swedish district court, the automaker's owner, Swedish Automobile, said Wednesday. Saab is seeking court approval for a voluntary reorganization to secure short-term stability while it waits for funding from Chinese investors Pang Da and Zhejiang Youngman, Swedish Automobile said in a statement. Victor Muller, CEO of both Saab and Swedish Automobile, said in a statement: "We have concluded that a voluntary reorganization process will provide us with the necessary time, protection and stabilization of the business, allowing salary payments to be made, short-term funding to be obtained and an orderly restart of production to be prepared." Muller remains optimistic about Saab's future.

2013 Skoda Octavia Estate revealed

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Ahead of a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Skoda has revealed the estate version of the new Octavia with a pair of photos. The 2013 Skoda Octavia Estate takes the already capacious Octavia hatch to a new level, with a boot that will swallow 610 litres of stuff with the seats up and an impressive 1,740 litres with the seats down, a significant chunk more than the competition can offer. The extra capacity comes courtesy of extra length compared to the Octavia hatch, with the estate growing by 110mm in the wheelbase – with an extra 73mm for rear passengers’ legroom – and 90mm longer overall.
