Here's a clean, nice-looking stock AM radio I believe to be out of a 1970 Dart originally. It may be a one year only style (like 1970 E-body AM radio was) with chrome push buttons. Comes with nice knobs, and has nice uncut or spliced wiring and plugs. Very nice face , lens, and dial. The case is clean, and has no damages. Comes with the original hanger bracket to dash frame for rear of radio. I tested it and got it to play a little, but had a lot of static. Maybe in a car with a better antennae it would play better, but no guarantee on that. Chrome buttons are shiny, but do have just a little wrinkling / bubbling towards rear of them. May be behind the plate over radio I think when mounted in dash. Front of them looks good. Bottom of radio has a label on it with the Chrysler Pentastar and the part #2884750. I think this will fit a number of years (at least 1971-72), but think it may be only year with the chrome push buttons, so hard style radio to find here!

Up for your auction bids is this very nice looking factory AM radio that I believe to have originally been out of a 1970 Dart (A-body Mopar).  Likely is same for Duster & Valiant models in 1970 as well.  It has a white paper tag on bottom with Bendix and Mopar / Pentastar markings and shows a part # of 2884750.  Comes with all four original knobs and also the original mounting bracket from rear stud / nut of radio to dash frame, for support of radio. This radio likely will work in 1971 and perhaps 1972 A-body radios as well, but think they all had black push buttons from Chrysler in 1971-74 era.

Featured 1970 A-body AM radio has a very nice clean-looking face, dial, lens, knobs, and case.  The case is not rusty or otherwise corroded.  No dents or alterations from all stock.  The right station dial works the dial back and forth fine, and the push buttons do too. Chrome push buttons are nice and bright and shiny, but do have just a little wrinkling and a little bubbling, but most is way to the rear of buttons, so don't think much would show behind a factory dash face plate, once this would get mounted in a car dash. Face of buttons is all nice. Left knobs / control shaft clicks on and off fine, and works volume good.  I did test this radio, and with the test equipment I had, I did get it to play some, but it was crackly in its sound.  Maybe with a better antennae in a car it would play better, but I can't guarantee that.  You may want to get it checked out, or simply use it to plug the hole in the dash with a nice stock-looking radio, and have a hidden modern-era radio someplace else-- the way many people do today.

Don't miss this hard to find chrome-button AM radio from a 1970 Dart, if your car's is missing, damaged, or you have the wrong style one.  Not many of these out there.  Be sure to put in those good bids today at my reasonable opening bid price on this rare piece. Thanks for stopping in to look and bid!

Alfa Romeo MiTo Review (2012): Quadrifoglio Verde (Cloverleaf)

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

We have the range-topping Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (Cloverleaf) in for a week for review and test. The Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (or Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf to us linguistically challenged Brits) is Alfa’s efforts at a proper little hot hatch and gets the very good 170bhp 1.4 litre MultiAir engine under the bonnet, offering real performance promise. The MiTo is a bit of a Marmite car in the looks department with its small car take on an 8C nose.

Lamborghini LP620 YarroW

The Lamborghini LP620 YarroW by Wheelsandmore The Lamborghini LP560-4 is a very good car. Not as barking mad as we like our Lambos – you can thank Audi for that – but a damn fine car nonetheless. Its stunning V10 makes one of the best noises on the planet and – unlike most chop-tops – the Spyder is as good as the coupe.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport launches

Fri, 26 Nov 2010

Ferrari 458 Italia - just one of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport shod Supercars at the launch At the beginning of October – when it was already starting to feel as if we were in mid-winter on some days – the nice man from Michelin (that’s Paul, not the Michelin Man) called and asked us if we’d like to go and play with their new tyre – the Michelin Pilot Super Sport -  on some appealing cars. Sadly, too few staff and too much to do meant we had to decline his kind offer. Although it was very hard to do when we realised it would have meant a few days in the sun in Dubai and the chance to drive some of the world’s finest cars, shod with Michelin’s replacement for the Pilot Sport PS2.
