The resilience of the UK’s luxury car market is, to a great degree, driven by the availability of decent finance deals to secure a sale, and much of that business was underwritten by ING. But ING has withdrawn from the UK car finance market.

The latest version of the Porsche 911 (Porsche 911) arrived at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and Porsche are planning to reveal the four wheel drive versions – the Porsche 911 $ and 4S, Coupe and cabriolet – at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

In fact, Aston Martin sales in 2012 – 67,500 units – was still 42,500 down on its pre-recession sales levels of 110,000 cars in 2007 and that lead to yet another loss. Aston Martin has posted pre-tax losses for 2012 of £24,6 million on sales of £461.2 million for 2012, a worsening position over 2011 which saw losses of £21.2 million.
