BMW Concept ActiveE at Detroit motor show 2010

BMW has unveiled this rolling testbed for its electric car strategy - the new Concept ActiveE - at the 2010 Detroit motor show. It's a fully electric BMW and a hint of what's to come through the long-range visionary Project i plan which will reshape BMWs for the 21st century.No prizes for guessing it's based on an existing BMW production car, the 1-series Coupé. But the hardware underneath is designed to percolate across the lower echelons of the BMW range, starting with some exciting new bespoke electric cars.The ActiveE is the first fully electric BMW and follows in the treadmarks of the Mini E. Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept arrives at Pebble Beach

Victoer Muller has deliver the Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept (pictured) at Pebble Beach You have to admire Victor Muller’s tenacity, and you have to admire the way he’s sketched the B6 Venator out on the back of a fag packet and got the car world salivating over a car that’s really just a set of pretty clothes. Because glorious though the B6 Venator is – and Victor has managed to rub out the roof on the back of his fag packet in a very convincing way to deliver the Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept – it must be someone else’s car to start with. There is no way Spyker has the money – despite Victor’s Gold Medal in investment  garnering – or has had the time to develop the B6 Ventaor from scratch, so he’s using something else under the very pretty skin he’s created for the Venator.

Treasures from West Germany lurk at Sonoma Raceway

In my role of Chief Justice of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court, I travel to Sonoma Raceway, aka Sears Point, at least twice per year. Most of the time I'm there, I'm stuck disciplining miscreant racers with incomprehensible penalties, but every so often I slip away in my Race Organizer Review car to shoot some action photos of the competitors. A good area for shooting LeMons cars is from the access road that runs parallel to the track between turn 10 and turn 11, and getting there takes me past an area of shops and garages… and I always spot some interesting cars parked there.
