OUR REBUILD SERVICE WORK IS WARRANTIED FOR A FULL TWO YEARS!!!! TWICE AS LONG AS ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD!!!!! Smiths Norton 'Green Globe' 150 mile per hour speedometer and matching Norton 'Green Globe' 9,000 rpm tachometer. At the bottom of the speedometer it is marked SSM 3001/09 and the bottom of the tach face reads RSM 3003/15. The speedometer only has 8 tenths of a single mile on it which was 'run in' distance only when it was on a calibration stand. The internal parts of these gauges have been removed, completely renovated and calibrated to meet the specifications of newly remanufactured gauges. The rebuild of these Smiths guages included the following: The cans (cases) were professionally powdercoated to Concours quality standards. Next, the insides of the cans were painted with white epoxy paint (the only paint that will not peel, turn to dust) for many, many years. Then the blue, light enhancing, paint was sprayed on the one section of the inside the EXACT same way and in exactly the same shade as Smiths did it when they were built. This gives a softer shine to the light rather than just harsh white light. The center aluminum buttons were painted black and the correct shade of bright white was added to the needles. Then NEW bezels, glass, upper and lower rubber glass sealing seals and new stainless steel chassis screws and washers were added, along with new internal and external shock absorbing rubber biscuit mounts and the stainless steel nuts and washers (for the mounting of these to the stock Norton mounting bracket extenders (not included) were then added. This Norton Green Globe gauge set is ready to JUST BOLT ON AND GO!!!!.
I understand this particular gauge set is correct for all 1971 to 1974 Norton Commando models. Probably is correct for other years and models. Jaguar Land Rover open new engineering test centre in Dubai
Sun, 12 May 2013Jaguar Land Rover are growing at a tremendous rate, and that means more and more testing of cars to make sure they can cope with the extremes of climate they’re subjected to by owners around the world. So as part of their growing test programme, JLR have extended their testing and engineering facilities in the Al Barsha area of Dubai so they can test durability, calibration and hot weather testing for heat and humidity as well as test the powertrains, chassis, HVAC and, as this is Dubai and it has plenty of sand, they can also give the Land Rover Terrain Response systems a proper workout. JLR has been hot weather testing in Dubai for more than 12 years – an area where temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius – and the new facility replaces a much smaller one in the same area, and joins Jaguar Land Rover’s other test facilities at the Nurburgring, Arjeplog in Sweden and Phoenix and International Falls in the States to ensure all JLR’s new cars get subjected to everything from extreme hot and cold to track work.

To achieve the overall “good” rating, the vehicles had to perform well in each of the following crash-test categories: frontal moderate overlap, side, rear impact and roof strength. “The Mazda 3 and the CX-5 are two very important vehicles for Mazda and our customers,” said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO).
