SHIPPING - PLEASE READ: Domestic items are shipped VIA US Post Office Priority Mail WITH insurance. No exceptions unless otherwise stated in the item description as some items may be too expensive to ship Priority Mail (Continental United States only; International shipping will be quoted on an individual basis determined by country). An invoice will be sent at the end of the auction with shipping charges based on your location. For domestic items Priority Mail is the only option as Parcel Post items have taken an extremely long time to arrive and I have received bad DSR ratings even though I did everything I stated I would to expedite shipping. My shipping costs are based on current USPS rates. I use new boxes as often as possible, I package everything properly, I insure all items and I do this as quickly as possible. None of these things are cheap or free, neither are the ebay and Paypal fees. My point is that while I do not intend to make money on shipping, I will not lose money on shipping either. I charge the flat rate Priority Mail fee and I pay for the insurance. Please realize this when bidding so there are no problems or disappointments later. I'm happy to combine shipping on multiple items at a discounted shipping rate. Please contact me for specific shipping charges. I ship Priority Mail with insurance on all items. If another shipping method is preferred, please contact me before the end of the auction so we can discuss this. Due to my work schedule, I'm usually only able to ship on Saturdays. If any other shipping arrangements are needed, please ask before bidding so there are no disappointments. I'll do my best to make it work. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: For items over $75.00, shipping MUST be Priority Mail or Express Mail because these are the only trackable international shipping options offered by the U.S. Post office. I've had numerous problems with lost International First Class parcels. Please e-mail before bidding for a shipping quote so there are no surprises after the auction ends. Or, if you wish you can go to USPS.COM for a quote, this item will ship from zip code 46311. I WILL NOT SHIP ITEMS OVER $75.00 FIRST CLASS, THIS IS PROTECTION FOR BOTH OF US. TERMS OF SALE BID WITH CONFIDENCE: I don't misrepresent or overstate my items. I look at everything before the listing is prepared and try to point out all major flaws. But, I am only human and somtimes miss things that don't jump out at me. I do offer a 14 day money back guarantee as described below. If my descriptions leave any question about the condition of the item, PLEASE ASK. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE: All items have a 14 day money back guarantee for material defects in the item that are unacceptable based on the item description provided. Shipping charges are not refundable, buyer pays any return shipping fees. OTHER TERMS: Please understand that I have zero tolerance for people who win one of my auctions then without any prior contact or questions being asked try to get me to ship cheaper (not Priority Mail or no Insurance, or ask me to declare a lower value on customs forms). By bidding on a sellers items, you are agreeing to their complete terms of payment and shipping. I am NOT responsible for buyers' customs fees. Please do not ask me to falsify any customs forms. I will not consider doing this so be aware of this prior to bidding. Appropriate feedback will be left for all auctions. Please note; I will not send second chance offers so if you receive one please disregard. ABOUT US: I have been collecting model cars and automotive memorabilia most of my life, and over the years have accumulated some duplicates. I'm a collector at heart, but have recently needed to turn to the hobby as a source of income. I buy automotive promotional models, kits and other memorabilia. Thanks for looking at our auctions!!! CONTACT US: If you have any questions or are looking for a certain model please contact me via ebay messages, I'll try to help. |

Peugeot Unveils Hybrid Le Mans Racer
Tue, 07 Oct 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 07 October 2008 13:03 Peugeot used the final round of this season’s Le Mans Series at Silverstone this weekend to show off its new hybrid-powered 908 HDi FAP racer, which features a similar kinetic energy recovery setup to next year’s Formula 1 system. The 908’s ‘HY’ undertook a number of demonstration laps in front of the packed grandstands and showed how Peugeot’s passenger car technology is filtering through to its motorsport activities.Over the weekend, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest – the company that runs the Le Mans series – announced a raft of aerodynamic and air-intake changes to next year’s regulations to even out the advantages of diesel over petrol. But rather frustratingly for Peugeot, there were no moves to incorporate hybrid powertrains in the 2009 season. But Peugeot claims that it will enter the 908 HY into next year’s Le Mans Series as a ‘Double Oh’ non-competitor to further evaluate the car’s hybrid technology. The HY’s layout comprises three key components - an 80bhp gear-driven electric motor-generator which replaces the conventional starter motor, 10 lithium-ion battery stacks to store the recovered power (six in the cockpit instead of the conventional battery and four on the left-hand side of the floor pan) and an electronic power converter, located in the rear part of the front left wing, which controls the flow of energy between batteries and motor. The result is a 3-5% mechanical energy recovery – and the associated economy and performance benefits. Over a single lap of Le Mans, for example, the system will recoup lost energy for up to 30seconds.This is then converted into a 20second 80bhp kick can either be meted out automatically by the car’s electronics to bolster acceleration throughout the lap or be selectively used by the driver using a ‘push to pass’ boost button. The additional and modified components add a further 65kg to the car’s weight, but Peugeot’s engineers claim the racecar will still easily meet the minimum regulated weight. “As a car manufacturer we can use motor sport as a research and development tool for the Peugeot brand as a whole,” said Michel Barge, Peugeot Sport’s director.
