The biggest and boldest hood ornament of them all, the Fleetwood series unit.  This was also part of the estate sale group.  This is NOT a crappy repro that has the wrong colors and cheap chrome.  It's a legit Cadillac used part from back in the day.   This one is in OK condition (see my other auctions for some nicer ones). It's a budget oriented unit.  The chrome is not showing pits, but has a hazy shine.  One side of the colored insert is smooth, the other side has some alligatoring in the lucite (I recommend you give the clear lucite a good polish/buff and the colors might be more vivid -- but they are faded).  This ornament is in OK shape, much better than none at all!

NOTE:  This is fully a General Motors original part, made over 37++ years ago.  Be assured...I sell you ONLY the REAL THING from G.M.

I recently purchased a box of vintage Cadillac hood ornaments, emblems and misc parts from the estate of a former Cadillac mechanic....who served for 20+ years between the mid 1970's to 1990's.  He apparently had an appreciation for crests/wreaths, and had a modest collection of them in NOS  and/or mint condition examples.  He did not retain the original boxes, as they were in a glass case for display.  I am identifying this collection and posting these pristine examples over the next few weeks, so that they can find homes on the vintage cars they truly deserve.  Using my Master Parts books, I will identify the applications as best I can, but as always, the final determination for use on your car is your responsibility.

I HAVE MANY 1971-78 ELDORADO PARTS...MESSAGE ME WITH YOUR NEEDS~!

A tribute to Ermanno Cressoni

Wed, 06 Jul 2005

Last week the car design community suffered a great loss. Ermanno Cressoni or 'Arch' as many of his designers affectionately referred to him, passed away on Thursday 30th June in Milan after battling with cancer for 13 months.'Arch' was a reference in car design and his contribution to our profession was much more important than stated in the press. As Alfa Romeo Centro Stile Director he directed the Alfetta berlina, the famous chrome GTV grille from the early seventies is attributed to him, as is the Giuglietta sedan of the late seventies, the Alfa 33, the 75, and many of the racing Alfas we adore from the late 60s and early 70s.

Hyundai reveals i-oniq concept teaser

Thu, 15 Dec 2011

Hyundai has hinted at its future design direction with this single teaser shot of its ‘i-oniq’ concept car. Further details will be revealed in the run-up to next March's 2012 Geneva show, but judging by this glimpse, the concept will take the form of a large coupe with a hatchback tail. It stops short of the full shooting-brake silhouette, but there’s a hint of Brera in the curvature of its rear end. ‘Two strong arched curves define the silhouette of i-oniq, creating a playful contrast between the sharp character lines and soft but muscular features’ says Thomas Bürkle, Hyundai’s European Chief Designer.
