VW Golf Bluemotion concept (2008): first pictures
Mon, 08 Sep 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 08 September 2008 13:22 This is Volkswagen’s cleanest Mk6 Golf, a Bluemotion concept car that is claimed to achieve 74mpg while puffing out a paltry 99g/km. Those are figures on a par with today’s Polo Bluemotion, but this concept will become production reality in mid-2009. A 1.6-litre common-rail diesel engine powers the new Golf Bluemotion, producing 104bhp and 184lb ft, but those remarkable figures are helped by revised ratios on the five-speed ‘box, optimised aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tyres. There’s also a particulate filter to keep the exhaust gases clean.
2011 / 2012 Saab 9-5 SportCombi to debut at Geneva
Wed, 19 Jan 2011The 2011 Saab 9-5 SportCombi All has been fairly quiet on the Saab front of late. Spyker are getting on doing what they’re doing to push production and sales in the right direction. There’s been some talk about a Baby Saab – the Saab 9-2 – which will use a BMW/MINI Chassis and we’ve heard a whisper or three about something ‘Sporty’ at the Geneva Motor Motor Show in March.
Seat Leon and Altea facelifts (2009) first photos
Mon, 09 Feb 2009By Ben Whitworth First Official Pictures 09 February 2009 12:36 Seat has given its Altea and Leon ranges a neat visual facelift, complemented by the introduction of new common rail diesel engines and enhanced levels of luxury and safety kit. The new-look models will make their debut at the Geneva motorshow in early March, alongside the new Exeo estate and a yet-to-be-seen Ecomotive concept. According to Seat, the new-look Altea and Leon families adopt Seat’s ‘Arrow Design’ look introduced on the Ibiza by Seat design boss and ex-Lamborghini designer Luc Donckerwolke to create a more consistent visual look to the Spanish range.
