Toyota FT-86 to get Subaru 2.0 litre Boxer engine

The Scion FR-S Concept - the North American Toyota FT-86 It’s actually starting to look as if Toyota – and Subaru, for that matter – are really going to finally get their respective fingers out and deliver to the market the affordable sports cat they’ve been promising for the last two year. The original Toyota FT-86 surfaced in 2009 with a promise of affordability and fun and we all got quite excited, especially as it was a surprisingly brave move for an increasingly bland and corporate Toyota. Sell-Out Goodwood Revival Wows The Crowds

A SELL-OUT crowd of 148,000 enjoyed the 17th Goodwood Revival Meeting on the weekend of September 12-14 at the Goodwood Motor Circuit. The on-track highlights included the annual RAC TT Celebration race for early-1960s GT cars, comprising a £150 million field that included Jaguar E-types, Aston Martin Project cars and even a Bizzarini. The 60th anniversary of the Jaguar D-Type was marked with a 30-car parade plus the Lavant Cup race exclusively for examples of the Le Mans-winning British sportscar, while the Maserati 250F also turned 60 with variants of the Italian grand prix car making up two thirds of the Richmond Trophy field for front-engined F1 machinery of the late 1950s.

Lewis Hamilton is leaving McLaren to drive for Mercedes – ousting Michael Schumacher – and Sergio Perez joins McLaren. It’s seemed likely for some time that Lewis Hamilton would leave McLaren for Mercedes, and this morning McLaren has confirmed that’s exactly what’s happening. The move to Mercedes for Hamilton takes him away from the team that has nurtured his talent from childhood and given him a life he could never have dreamed of.
